I found some Roman coins in the Cliffs at Dover. I had to donate them to the now gone White Cliffs museum. I was told I could not sell or keep them. Heritage stuff:confused:

Well,very much after the fashion Sweetie had to proffer her find to the White Cliffs museum,I too,had to surrender a find of Viking silver to the Essex Museum in Chelmsford. Not actually threatened with official action per-se,but they made it very obvious that they ‘expected’ such finding of what they referred to as ‘Historical Merit’ [they put the capitals in] to be voluntarily handed over.
GOOD on 'em,I say. But since that day,I ain’t fahnd nuffink officer…honest I ain’t.

I think it’s a carpenter’s thing Sweetie, when a carpenter loves his work and his wood he takes a few specially selected planks, tongues and grooves them, takes the planks home with him, slots them together, then uses them as a bed and sleeps on them, that’s a tongue and groovy kind of love, is that any help I wonder?;-)
