How come Australia is in the Eurovision song contest? Since when did Australia become part of Europe?
We have a Jessica Mauboy representing Australia singing “We got Love” this Saturday in the same group as Ireland trying to win a place in the finals, I wish the girl all the best, but shouldn’t they rename it “The World Song Contest” Israel ain’t in Europe either according to my atlas, next year keep an eye out for Mekon and the Treens from Northern Venus taking part. :-)(Eagle Comics, Dan Dare 1950’s)

talkin of which Jem - watched the end of a second rate movie today called Leap Year in which the girls in Ireland could propose to the boys - starring amy adams and adam scott - poor acting and lousy plot but most of it was set in Ireland - lovely scenery - irish brogue of course and good guiness and tucker!

With all the pies and flies gettin’ flung around Solo I did miss that informative post, my apologies.
I had glanced at the Irish news headlines last night and saw the bit about Australia and says to meself that’s a bit weird, but like you say it’s a big cash cow now, gone the way of football and City Marathon runs, shame really.
Do you remember the year we had a Turkey singing for Ireland? 2008 that was, we went downhill rapidly after that.
