Leisurely Scribbles part 2

Terrific, and at the drop of a hat too!, Gumbud you excel yourself my good man.

I know a young Lady who married a Toff
’tis well you may scoff but she loved that old Toff
He took her off to the Tatler’s ball
and waltzed her all around the hall
but then he fell down, and coughed his last cough.

I once worked for a very posh couple, I could only stick it a month. They had a shop on a very fashionable street in the city centre, both served the customers alongside the rest of the staff and were as nice as pie to each other when in the front of the shop, beaming smiles at each other and the customers from behind the counter. It was a completely different story at the back of the shop and that was where my workbench was, they were like cats and dogs and I was an unwilling listener, boy could they insult one another in the best possible taste.
One incident I remember in particular, it was the last straw for me, we had just taken down the shutters and opened up, I went into the back and sat down to work as usual, after about five minutes or so later he rushes in with her ‘Gucci” handbag in one hand and a large tailors scissors in the other, he stands in the middle of the floor with a devilish grin on his face and proceeds to cut the thing to ribbons, he was enjoying every second of it, he then puts the bits into a plastic bag and stuffs the lot into the waste bin. I haven’t a clue what this is all about and I don’t want to know either but he tells me anyway. It seems they had an early morning row and she went into his ‘Study’ and took one of his prized Dinky toy cars out of the glass case and stamped it flat, she wasn’t getting away with that says he with a satisfied smile on his mug. I told him I had an urgent appointment with the dentist as an excuse to get out before she came in, when I got back he had a black eye and a scratched nose, he was sitting on my stool crying, what a life, I gave him notice but he asked me to stay on “You can’t get the right stall these days at all” No bleedin wonder says I to him and was out the door like a light.

Christmas

you hear some strange comments this time of year?

Christmas is just around the corner - not sure what corner and is it just standing there waiting for us to turn the corner or does it turn the corner itself and if so how does it know what corner to turn?

Christmas is fast approaching - does it speed up at the last minute and is this why we rush about so much before Xmas - because we are rushing on ahead or towards it?

Christmas seems to be early this year? - really - is there a special Xmas clock that can be wound down or up and runs different from our own?

Christmas heh - well it’s only for one day! - I wonder why - can’t we cope with more than one day and is it really 24hrs or 12 hrs or 8 hrs

and Boxing day well there’s another story in itself!

of course some would say well Christmas is of course the Christ Mass- the celebration of the birth of a special child who came to save the world - well hell fire I don’t feel saved at the moment and if the world is going to be saved - from what? and why? and when?

sorry got no answers just the puzzles

Sometimes you just have to take a break from seeking answers, and certainly don’t be apologetic about it, sometimes it is best not to seek answers at all, ignorance is bliss, sometimes your ignorance is someone else’s bliss.

When you have answers, but not the questions, its worrying.

Not so, if you are convicted by your courage.

To have the courage of your convictions

Hmmmm… true

We had a chap on a radio show here back in the 60’s, a sort of helpful hints and questions answered about various household problems, he used to say that at the end of his show, “And don’t forget, if you have a query friend let us know, we might be able to straighten things out for you”

It always made me smile to meself, somehow it never sounded quite right to me.

Sounds like JULIAN & SANDY

Is it possible to be everywhere, and nowhere at the same time.

saw this recently written on a circular hanging thingy

A Round Tuit

This is a Tuit. Guard it with your life as Tuits are hard to come by,especially the round ones. This is an indispensable item. It will help you become a more efficient worker. For years we have heard people say " I’ll do it as soon as I get a round tuit" Now that you have one, you can accomplish all thoses things you put aside until you got a ROUND TUIT!!

depends where everyone is right now! now here this can a spit put out a fire??

Yes it is possible but don’t ask me to try to explain it. You must have been watching that Quantum Physics program on BBC4 Spitty.
Try the two coin spinning thing he demonstrated, take two similar coins and spin them at the same time on a table, stop one deliberately letting the other spin freely, if the one you stopped lands on heads the other will land on tails when it stops on it’s own, and the other way around in your stopped coin lands on tails, never fails. The presenter says even if one coin is at the other side of the world or on Mars in still happens the same way, distance is no object provided they are spun at the same time, although you would need extraordinary long arms for the Mars attempt. It’s amazing stuff and the beauty of it is that it baffles everyone, even Einstein.

Not if extinguishing a fire would deny warmth to beings benefiting from it. A “Flob” may benefit the “Flemish”.

True, or a Blob may extinguish the squeamish, it did in the 1956 film with Steve McQueen.

I’ll bet Scrodinger’s Cat was good at this

Ah,but y’see a VERY little-known fact is…Schodinger invented the microwave oven…[steam powered, natch],so his cat was just a BIT miffed at becoming famous, nipped out the back [where the coal was shovelled in] and put a teddybear in the oven in his place. This was never made public as people like Maxwell,Hertz & of course Percy Spencer got the hump. And that’s all TRUE,that is-cross me 'art, guvnor

 I thought all tuits were round, although some are harder to get around than others.

IMPORTANT WORDS

Sometimes the important words are only small, like adore, or love, or care
We can shout them loud or whisper them quietly, to those whose lives we share
To say them we should mean them, not feign there depth or meaning
For the heart it takes them all in, there’s no security or screening

Sometimes the important words to those we love and care the most for
Are the easiest to retrieve from our repertoire of words stored
They may be overused, though not with deliberate intention
Sometimes our human brain is a little short on word retention

Sometimes the important words are not always those we say
They lay bereft and all alone, waiting to be spoken on another day
To say them may be truthful, they may hurt, cause someone pain
Better not to utter them, hide them away, nothing to gain

Sometimes the important words can no longer be contained
They spill out as the truth will when too long it’s been restrained
But their honesty will quell the ache, and knowing is all for good
To deal with truth and honesty, then we are not misunderstood

Sometimes the important words are not the easiest to say
For some to say, I love, I care, it’s just not been there way
It doesn’t mean that they’re unfeeling or uncaring, not at all
They’ll be there in times of need, you won’t need to ask or call

Sometimes in using the important words, something’s lost along the way
As so many of us hear and utter them, several times a day
We say Take Care, I Miss You, I Love You, You’re My World
A few words amongst the thousands that at our ears are hurled

Sometimes the important words travel continents and space
They’re used in every language, by men and women of every race
It doesn’t matter how you say them, or whatever is your style
Tell someone you love and care for them, say the words, and watch them smile.

If you have no one to say it to, or to say the words to you
Don’t worry, say it to yourself, it’s ok to love yourself too

That is truly beautiful Linda, did you compose that yourself?, top marks if you did.
