we had a good couple o’ weeks, I got sitting out under my parasol
Well, today is the last day of winter, tomorrow it is spring and life is starting to warm up.
My only objection to this time of the year (no longer valid because I am retired) is the lack of public holidays between now and Christmas. The only one, which occurs on the first Monday in October, is Labour Day.
What a bugger!
What summer? Pray tell me what past for a summer in the UK this year other than the couple of hot days we had at the beginning of last month.
I missed it too.
Spring! You’ll be excited to know that temperatures are going to be in the mid 20s and sunny for the rest of the week.
I love the warmer weather.
beautiful sunny morning here not a cloud in the sky…beginning of autumm too
The weather is rubbish here dull and quite nippy .
I hate British weather .
Seeing your post Muddy, after having been reminded of this thread by the new OFC software, also given the title of the thread “Just a quick thought”, the information on the link below might just give us all something more positive to look forward to:
160 days…my goodness, how to fill the time!
Yes, it seems a long time but given that (dare I mention it) Chr**tm*s is just 75 days away, my favourite season of spring will arrive as in those days indicated. That’s all that keeps me going through our winters, also often autumn come to that!
And here was me all happily skipping towards Spring, and you go and mention THAT word.

Only 75 days - yikes - must busy myself in the Craft Room and finish making gifts!
Well I tried very hard not to mention it in my post but could do nothing about the link title, my apologies.
Incidentally I dislike C****t**s and don’t celebrate it. Ooops did it again

For me it doesn’t exist other than as a name and a rare ‘Sunday’ roast dinner.

That’s quite alright, I know how these things go. As a late Christmass-er myself, I tend not to think about it until about the 2nd week in December. Tree goes up, then down again on Boxing day.
Christmas was completely different when younger, once we all grew up I realised it about buying pressies and putting up a tree and as many lights as possible.
Too much food buying, too many crowds, pushing and shoving for the last few Brussels, at exorbitant prices.
Since 2000 when we moved to the South Coast…it all changed. We went to the beach on Xmas Day for a good walk as often the Sun would be shining. We had a full Roast Lamb Meal and even had a smallish Xmas Tree in our small Conservatory.
We actually bought zero Presents for each other. We did buy a large item between us the first year, that was a great way for us and have done that ever since…
Suddenly the shelves will be filled with Xmas wares and a slight increase in purchases of course, but nothing very noticeable at all…
.The French gather the evening before the 25th for a special meal with their Families.
Seasons Greetings tis Autumn still.
Just another day as far as I am concerned.
I simply adore Christmas
It’s such a pity my kids are all grown!
They believed that Santa Claus was REAL until around 9 years old

I am pleased you enjoy Xmas, we enjoy most days of the year regardless of the Sentiments.
When the family were small we had somebody arrive at the house in the afternoon dressed in a Father Xmas outfit and the sack he had was full of presents, from us and other relatives
One Xmas Day we got let down, my Husband stood in for him…without doubt the best Daddy Xmas ever…
