what a load of rubbish…that won’t encourage me to use their stores
I’ve just watched that as it was sent to me via e-mail. It’s definitely nowhere near as memorable as their previous advertisements, which I thought were good. It will not encourage me to shop with them anyway, I stopped shopping there a long time ago due to some of their newly-introduced policies at the time, I voted with my feet!
Awww…what a lovely little movie…so sweet.
Absolutely nothing in that would say John Lewis to me though…far less encourage me to go there and buy things
It was quite cute and the songs an ear worm of course. But it doesn’t really advertise John Lewis at all.
I like the Aldi ones best
But thanks for posting it, they’re a Christmas tradition now, like the Coca Cola ads and I like to look out for them
It reminds me of the Coca-Cola ads at Christmas time. All warm fuzzy and awwww. Not a thing to do with the item their selling. It’s kind of like the company is saying see how human we can be. We’re not just about money (big lie).
Turns out the jumper that lights up had to be taken off the shelves at John Lewis because it wasn’t an eco approved one.
Woke, woke, woke. That’s me finished with John Lewis.
Strange that the scene was covered in snow, and a few snowflakes (the real ones) began drifting down. I thought that climate change had put an end to snow and ice?
Definitely woke^3. I can’t remember the last time we shopped in JL.
Awwww I liked it, but it’s nothing to do with persuading me to shop there. Not a fan of JL anyway.
I rather liked it … after all Christmas is a magical time for many .
I enjoy shopping at JL
I haven’t got a telly, so I don’t know what the quality of the programmes is these days, but when people start discussing how good the adverts are, It makes me suspect it can’t be very high.
Ye gods Tiff …that’s frightening
NO, he is very cute & cuddly.
Aah - I absolutely loved it.
You have that about right, Fridays and weekends is usually absolute rubbish on the terrestrial channels. However, that said there have been some very clever and memorable advertisements and that’s what advertising is all about, getting people to remember the name of either the product or store, as in the case of John Lewis.
All that is true, Baz, but even so, the adverts shouldn’t be more entertaining than the programmes.
I agree with you completely but ‘rubbish’ is what we are expected to watch at weekends. Paying nearly £14 a month for that is something I will be changing very shortly. There are other ways of watching television with far more interesting programmes at probably the same cost too. I have yet to find out about all that but funding overpaid actors, footballers and top BBC executives etc, from the licence fee is just too much.
I’m not sure JL ads are for telly watchers. I’ve only ever seen the youtube version on miserable old git sites.
… same response every year … woke … doesn’t make me want to shop there … etc.
