Little by little, Ffosse. Sounds good so far.
Iāve got a sore back, though. Itās fine in bed and for the first couple of hours after i get up but then it flares up.
You are the opposite to me then Ffosse! I get back ache when I lie down but itās ok when Iām sitting or standing. Iām trying to settle it with paracetamol.
I was told that my body core was weakened by the chemo and that the pain in my back and neck was from trying to support myself.
Nice to see an update Val. I donāt always view this section. Hugs sent.
That sounds awful Dreamy. I was about to ask if you had strained your back.
Hugs sent to you too.
Iām feeling fine today if a little sleepy. I finished my antibiotics so hope that my immune system picks up a bit.
Still nervous at nights before gong to sleep and have my 2 bags packed to go should I need them. Before the cancer I rarely ever got even a cold.
Hello Dreamy. I am glad you are feeling better.
Hopefully, things will improve at night. I can understand you feeling nervous. Just try and enjoy feeling better. You are always in my thoughts and prayers.
Thanks, Sweetie - just the appointment with my Consultant next Thursday to go - I should find out more by then how Iām doing overall, and at some stage Iāll need a PET scan which is in a different hospital.
Itās been an exhausting 6 months, though. I like this time of year - the nights start to lengthen a bit.
Getting stronger one day at a time, sounds encouraging. Sending good vibes for Thursdayās appointment and PET scan.
I am sure you will keep us all updated.
I am finding it incredibly hot at night.
I will need to google PET scan.
Iām getting the PET scan on the 23rd. Itās in a different hospital which is far away on the outskirts of the city.
Today, though, Iāve got a slot to see my G.P. at 11 to see about my sore back. It really is getting me down.

I wonder if itās similar to mine Ffosse, although I wouldnāt call mine sore, it just aches and worse when I lie down. Hope your GP can give you something to make yours feel better.
Well, some good news. My G.P. says that my back pain is definitely muscular and nothing to do with my cancer. She said that she could feel large knots on my back. Plus, the fact that the pain goes away when I lie down and my back and neck donāt need to be supported. I look forward to 10pm when I can get an hour or 2 of relief before sleeping.
No extra medication to take, just my Oxycodone tablets.
Ffosse, have you considered acupuncture for the back pain? It can be very effective for muscular pain.
I agree with Orangutan Dreamy.
Iāve had acupuncture before and it hurt as the needles went in. Iāve ordered a heatpad from Argos today specifically for my back. It should help. Iāll be able to use it whilst sitting up reading or watching TV. What would be just as good would be some massages but I would need more than 1 session and they are pricey. Apart from the back pain, I can feel my strength ever so slowly increasing.
The heatpad might be the best Ā£30 Iāve spent.
I hope it helps Dreamy.
Iām glad you are gaining strength.
Iāve been thinking of getting a heatpad too Ffosse. Iād be interested to know how you get on with yours. At the moment Iām using a wheat pad that I warm up in the microwave but it goes cold quickly.
I got one, a Beurer for Ā£30. It seems quite good but I feel the weather is a little warm to fully get the benefit of it. Itāll be great in the Winter, though. It has 3 settings, stops automatically after 90 minutes, and I have it on 1 at the moment (3 is roasting). I just drape it over the back of the cushion and sit with it pressed into my back. Better than constantly re-filling a hot water bottle. Oh, and it has a big illuminated switch. Good value especially if it helps my back.
I think I may get one of those Ffosse, see if it can control this constant back ache.
