I've had my chest x-ray

Oh dear, that was unexpected. Now you have another worry.
I was thinking of you today, remembering your chemo tomorrow.

I’ll just have to put up with it. Strange, though, that no-one mentioned it to me up until now.

Yes, I agree, but I suppose it is for the best. You know I will ALWAYS keep you company in hospital:lol: Such boring places.

All those pretty nurses to wait on you and, as you’ve already identified the food is good, what more could you ask for???

I’ve found out that it involves 5 days in hospital. I know it’s for my own good and this drug is to stop cancers travelling to other parts of my body, but it’s still not nice being in hospital notwithstanding the pretty nurses.

I had one night in hospital when I had an allergic reaction to one of the chemo drugs, it was enough, but on the other hand there must be good reason for them to keep you in. At least you will be fed and looked after, which you will appreciate if you’re not feeling too good. Hope all goes well tomorrow Ffosse, I’ll be thinking of you whilst I’m having my chemo too! I bet you have WiFi which is something our unit lacks!

The fact that you didn’t know is of concern. You have good & joined up NHS systems up there so I’m surprised.

At least you can (I hope) look forward to the nice food Ffosse.

I’ve got an MRI appointment on the 14th so I may still be in hospital when it comes round.

Well they do seem to be doing everything to try to help you get rid of this affliction. Are your symptoms any less severe yet?

Do you feel claustrophobic in MRIs?

I’m still out of breath walking short distances and, yes, I do get claustrophobic during an MRI. Usually I’ll take some diazepam or something.

I hope all goes well for you tomorrow Ffosse … and you too, Val.

Thank you Mags, it will be a long day!

Thanks Mags.

Well today was quick - I was all done by 12:45 compared with the 6pm last time.

I got a bit more information about the Methoxetrate treatment I’m to undergo when I’m in hospital again. Apparently I’ll be hooked up to a drip 24/7 and it requires close monitoring hence the need to be in hospital. It’s basically a drug to help stop my cancer spreading to other parts of my body and is used with various types of Lymphoma quite often. The day before I have to take lots of bicarbonate of soda tablets (6 every 3 hours) so my urine is alkaline as this drug can cause kidney damage. It’s still more chemotherapy, though. I do hope I get my own room.

No feelings of sickness today although I slept badly last night.

At least you know now Dreamy.
Glad you are back quick today.

So pleased today was over and done with quickly for you Ffosse. Mine was a long day as usual and I don’t feel too good at the moment but looking forward to my fish and chip supper.

Same as you sweetie pie no one seems to kow why my blood count is so low,and I feel so tired all the time,Plus my breathing & swollen ankles I have an appt. to see someone re my stomach ,in case I am bleeding internally

Well, I went for a nap at 3 and woke up at 9… still, Tesco delivery tomorrow. I was wondering how I could eat Ā£45 worth of food in a week but it’s more like Ā£30 on food as I bought household goods last time. And it’s been 9 days since my last delivery.

I’ve just got to make sure I’ve no perishables left by next Wednesday when I go into hospital. Shouldn’t be difficult as my appetite has been good and I hate to waste food.

Can’t you just freeze stuff like meat and fish? Unless you’re planning to switch the freezer off it’s worth stocking up. You can also buy cans of stuff like beans and tuna or pasta. You can even freeze bread and get some long life milk so you don’t have to worry about food if you’re feeling a bit rough.

I’ve only got a small freezer compartment but always have the makings of a meal. What I meant was not having any fruit or veg which could spoil during my hospital stay.
