Oh Dreamy I was worried about you being locked out.
I will be home on Saturday.
Did you see my Gibraltar photo thread?
Just adding a load more now.
Not yet - Iāll have a look.
So, Iāve been confined mostly to my room with any procedures taking place there. Yesterday I had just had an hour of chemo which went well; and today Iāve had a stomach injection to help my bone marrow. I anticipate nothing happening until mid next-week.
Ordinarily, I would be home at this stage, but they wanted to make sure I am sent home without any delusions. Those are the worst symptoms because if I donāt know Iām deluded my judgment is way off and I start believing its Christmas Day again, or a belief in time travel.
Next week my stem cell therapy begins. For most people this can involve more than 1 visit whilst they harvest the cells, a cannula in each arm. Iām obviously hoping that it will be as few visits as possible, but it could be as many as 5ā¦I hope not.
Hello Dreamy.
I am back home now.
I see you are still in hospital.
You must be so bored.
Yes Iām very bored and wish they could get to the bottom of my low blood pressure problem.Itās really starting to get to me.
I have no idea about low blood pressure. But I am here Dreamy. Pour your boredom on me. xxx
Iāve got too many worries, really, just praying that I can get through this coming week. Iām even scared of the taxi journey to the other hospital and Iāve been morbid and morose this past week when I should have been well enough for a few hours at home.
It is something new that worries you Dreamy. I would feel the same. You are strong enough to overcome this.
Draw some strength from all of us that are rooting for you. x
Rooting for you we are and keeping your eye on the ball that you are getting this very state-of-the-art treatment should lift your spirits. There is nothing better than your own body doing the healing which the stem cell therapy will allow.
Some medications and chemotherapies can cause low blood pressure. If the team is concerned about it, they will address it.
You are doing better than you thought just a month ago!
Whatās this about a taxi journey matey???, surely you mean an ambulance or the hospitalās own transport ??? and if youāre being transferred from one hospital to another, they shouldnāt allow you you do it unaccompanied, you should at the very least have a nurse with you.
I believe it is going to be a taxi - the hospital doesnāt have any other means of transport apart from their ambulances.
I agree - I should be accompanied by someone.
Thanks, Surfermom - your posts always lift my spirits. I think of how much I would enjoy a week of Californian culture.
Then tell 'em so matey, youāre not safe to be on your own !!!
Iāll tell them but I donāt think theyāll be willing to give up a member of staff for what will be a full day. The procedure itself lasts around 4 hours so itās likely to be around 7 hours in total.
Where are all these thousands and thousands of NHS volunteers we read about, when you need one?
It doesnāt necessarily need to be a nurse, just someone to accompany you.
Yes, I agree. Just someone for support and to help with my anxiety.
Since youāre technically āin careā of the hospital, and havenāt been ādischargedā - they should provide some sort of escort and given your medical conditions it SHOULD be a nurse !!!
These posts are so true. Dreamy I sincerely hope you DO get that support. xxxx
I can understand your anxiety over this issue.
I donāt have any details yet .
