Is Trump the most corrupt/dishonest president the US has ever had?

Zac, you make some good points but I suggest, look at the 20 years cost live increases. Yes, the prices hurt today but they didn’t happen over night (short period of time). I always use this as an example, when started smoking cigarettes were 25¢ a pack, now they are $10 a pack. It doesn’t matter if you smoke or not, it’s just a comparison.

This is how I look at the gas prices. First, there are laws against price gauging for natural disasters. This is controlled by the countries, states and local laws. And now the part that really gets under my skin is, we get less than 10% of oil through the straight (more like 2-3%). But the US let’s other countries dictate the price of oil in our country. That should be stopped now. The problem through the straight does effect us as much as it does from other countries. Fine our prices should stay the same and only sale our access oil to other countries (after we replenish our war supply). Oil should be controlled just like our water. You can’t divert water, you can’t tap into rivers, and you can’t waste water during droughts, you “can” drill your own water well but you get charge after a certain point.
Oil companies are making such a profit they can build refineries and still profit hundreds of millions.

Have to continue this in another post. I can’t edit. Post links, etc. my authorization has been reduced here

Continuing on:

Your comments got my brain going in so many different directions. I literally can type the information quick enough.

Accessory to a crime (government spending, contracts)

Cause and effect (delaying payment of government debt)

It’s not an individual thing. It’s a group thing (laws and policies)

Political parties (funds)(corporations)(pay and benefits)

Legal punishment (elected, appointed, uniformity)

Wages(people, Representatives, limits)

Back to your comment, restaurants have the highest failure rate and small business have a hard time competing with big box stores. But there are things that can help small businesses because the big stores cover a bigger area than small businesses. Something like, laws that set the prices in small areas or max and minimum profit that can be made of items. Some thing like, manufacture cost plus 3%, transportation cost plus 3%, retailer 3% to get final cost of item. Of course these ideas have faults but they can change to make it fair across the board.

To be continued

Oil is traded globally as a global commodity. It is set at Brent crude price … and Brent is a field in the North Sea off the UK. However it does not matter as oil prices are simply traded globally - like any of the fuels and minerals. The industry and the trading is more complicated that oil is extracted, oil is refined and the refined products are sold. Crude oil differs and refineries most often are set up to deal with only one type of oil - and even a limited number of resultant products. Crude oil might be sold and resold more than once on its way from field to refinery - changing price and ownership en route. Same for the refined products. This necessitates a global price.
The US gets one major advantage in all of this - oil and oil products are traded in US dollars. That means US banks always get a cut of all trades in the monetary transactions. If the US decided to go alone and set its own oil prices then the rest of the world would not need US dollar pricing and would move to another currency - cutting the US off from this derivative trading benefit. So the US won’t set its own prices and will continue to go with the existing global price structure.
But you knew all that already of course…

I guess the US could just pull out of global financial markets. That would give China global financial dominance overnight - here’s what the AI bots think would happen :

Congress took away The Donalds war powers so he immediately tries out this. Another Superior Court verdict due soon.

Trump’s new order could cost thousands of people their jobs — especially many of his own supporters

The market jumped today due to all this most likely.

Why not just remove all aspects of a free market that you think drives up prices? Why not just have the government set prices for everything - raw material prices, labour costs, wholesale prices, retail prices? You’re suggestion of caps on margins at each stage is effectively the same as setting prices. You are pretty much describing one form of socialism. The only difference is your 3% at each step suggestion is ridiculously unworkable. Make it 30% and you come close. Oh and you missed out the distributor - most of the US works by resellers selling to retailers (in fact for alcohol that use of distributors is baked into law).
I’d also note that your ideas would gift most of the US economy to Jeff Bezos and Amazon. Smart move batman.
If this is the sort of insight and logic that churns out your 3% fixed in law idea then I now understand why you’ve concluded that Trump is great. Let’s remind ourselves that you dismiss universal health care as socialist (which it is not) … and here you are proposing profit & margin controls and pricing controls (which actually is more like socialism). Duh.

France produces less than 10,000 barrels a day. And again they think they have an equal say about oil prices. Can see what wrong with that can we.

Since france produces so little they should be paying 135 times more than the US. Don’t let the government set the prices let production set the prices by country.

I thoroughly enjoy hearing about oil production from a country that has no impact on the worlds oil production. I guess they think they need advise when Texas produces 5.8 million barrels a day. Texas should give France something for their professional advise.

There are hundreds of items traded globally and the country with the product determines when and how much to sale. And we have seen it time after time from socialist countries saying to other when they needed the product themselves. Not giving the government the authority to sale the oil only limit the amount they can sale to foreign countries .

Must missed the statement about using the huge profits to build refineries to process the different grades of oil. But it’s understandable. Telling others how to do things the wrong way.

And oil should be traded in gold or prescious metals. Let each country sale their oil how and for what.

It is so very clear that you do not understand how commodity trading works. I’d shut up if I were you as this ain’t a discourse that is making you look as though you know what your talking about (but you still keep talking).

And yes, there are people that think foreign countries should tell us how much we should charge for our crops. Ukraine owes so many countries money their crop prices should be set by whom the rest is owed. Make since.

Bottom line the US oil is wanted around the world and the US should be allowed to set the price for US oil. Simple process. But the US should stay out of everybody else business.

It is so very clear, you don’t have a horse in the race, like so many other thing, but France knows best.

This is excellently funny (you had to chance to gracefully duck out but as you ignorantly kept going we will all enjoy examining your “thinking”). You think that producer countries vote on the pricing of oil in some way? That this decision making does not take account any producer country size or volume of production - therefore its boo-hoo so unfair that a little producer has equal say compared to a big place like the US. Maybe you think they all sit round a huge table and debate the merits of a price hike or not. Lots of seats with little country flags in front of each perhaps. In your imaginary country representative debate, let me ask, does Iran have a seat at the table?
No it does not work like that, nor does any producer get to decide oil prices. But you go further, it really gets funnier and funnier.

Brilliant. So a small country that produces zero oil would pay x infinity per barrel? Genius.
But a glimmer of hope then appears:

I think you mean each producer country sets their price per barrel. For the oil they produce. Now it might just be that the anti-socialist is beginning to understand how markets work (except you clearly don’t). Producers offer up their preferred price … and the buyers go elsewhere because its chesper or a better product. Go read some Adam Smith.

What makes you think that countries cannot expand or contract their oil production? What do think happened in 1973/74? Please, for the love of anything sane, please stop posting on stuff you know nothing about.

Aw, sweety, you think its that simple? Pop up a few pipes and condensing towers and then turn the tap on? There is a reason that refineries do not just get quickly slapped together.

This one really takes the proverbial cookie. You are suggesting that one product whose pricing is highly volatile can only be traded in other products whose pricing is highly volatile. Man, do you hate the world’s economy that much?
Well, more likely you are in the Trump camp of not understanding the world economy at all. Remember how tariffs were to be the answer to all American problems and would make all Americans rich. Yup, you bought that fiction, didn’t you?

why does Trump salute his armed forces when he was a draft dodger?

the market sets the price. That’s capitalism for you.

He received four student draft deferments while in college and law school. In April 1968, following a medical examination, the Selective Service reclassified him as “1-Y” (not available for service except in a national emergency) due to a history of teenage asthma

He’s commander in chief now and the military salutes him.

Exactly, france doesn’t have the knowledge on how to find, drill and produce oil. And they some how think the world cares about it opinions. More countries pay more attention to US states than they do to France.

The Donald notified the court today in writing that the slush fund is done.

Trump administration puts in writing to courts that the $1.8B ‘anti-weaponization’ fund is dead

These lil countries leaders want skim-trash-cash for fun and games. Their
ladies get on the plane, change to western mini’s and party with the men.

If he is such a goat why does he come up with stupid stuff like this?
AND is there no one left in the White House who is brave enough to tell him. :grinning:

At least 97 of the more than 1,500 Capitol rioters pardoned by President Donald Trump have since been arrested for, charged with, or convicted of crimes unrelated to Jan. 6.

The figure, published Thursday by the independent legal outlet Lawfare, is nearly triple the largest prior tally and amounts to nearly one in 16 of the insurrectionists swept up in the clemency order Trump, 79, signed on his first day back in office.

If he has pardoned one and they can be imprissoned on another unrelated charge well they went for it.

When I saw all the cement poured it looked like a pool of water in a curb sized depth. 6" It will most likely need re done ever 4 - 6 years. Stupid is the thinking for something only a small percentage of the USA taxpayers give a crap about.

Now he wants another $50 Billion. When you have a Hornets nest in the ground you can hire a pro to spray a lot of DDT or you can take a 5Gall bucket of hot water with lots of soap in it and dump it down the hole after dark, then take a vacuum cleaner out there near the hole and turn it on just before dawn and clear it almost for free. No DDT threat to your heatlth.
Give it a week and clean the filter when they stop moving. The soapy water will suffocate most of them in that hole of a nest. The vacuum is for those that are able to leave the hole the next morning.

If you notice a Hornet and some more, you need to search for the Golfball sized hole with a flashlight after dark, it is usually in an area with good drainage away from it. Near some vegetation or under a tree.
