Because Musk’s X was using Russian data centres to generate likes and re-tweets of his own posts. These fell in numbers significantly after the data centres were hit making Musk look a lot less popular. So in a huff he limited Starlink access.

Trump was on Putin’s side from the very start, so no need to outmanoeuvre Trump. Putin has had him in place and on track for years. In fact, it was Hillary Clinton who identified this. In a 2016 presidential debate she stated clearly that Trump was Putin’s puppet. Unfortunately the ill-informed, sexist and often frankly dumb American voters decided not to understand that.

President Donald Trump says the United States is “making a fortune” from higher oil prices, even as American consumers are paying significantly more for gasoline and diesel.
Speaking at a campaign rally in Perry, Georgia, on Saturday, Trump anticipated criticism of his remarks.
“I could just see the fake headlines. ‘President Trump is talking about all the money they’re making while people are suffering at the pump.’ That’ll be the headline,” Trump said.
“But I said, ‘I don’t give a damn. I’m gonna say it.’ We’re making a freaking fortune.”
