Don’t you mean pawsitive thoughts
Very good Abbey.
Wishing Gertie and yourself the very best of luck today Mups.
Hope everything goes well with the Vets and Insurers Mups.
Well, we’re back. Not as bad a journey as I feared. With not much traffic it only took 1 hour.
Lovely people there. Little Gertie must have had about 8 or 9 cuddles from different staff, plus a couple more from other clients, while we were still in the waiting area, so she was well happy.
Nice young lady the cardiologist, very kind and gentle with Gertie when she came to take her away for her scan. She told me if they found anything more serious they would need to x-ray afterwards as well, and she would need sedating for that.
I said Gertie was an exceptionally placid pup, and being as she was half asleep as well, I thought they would have no trouble holding her for the scan part.
Then they took her away.
About half hour later the vet brought her back and said it was good news.
Yes she did have a Mitral valve problem, it wasn’t opening and shutting properly, BUT, it was only a small fault so far, and it may not ever get any worse. Time will tell.
She told me what to look out for, and said they would like to re-scan her in 8 months time to see if there was any change, but so far - so good. If it stays like it is at the moment, it will likely never cause her a problem and it is unlikely to cause her heart failure later.
She also said “they were all amazed” at how good Gertie was. She said most pups of that age (14 weeks), wriggle play about all over the place, but Gertie did everything they wanted perfectly, and just layed still.
I know I keep saying it, but she is the most biddable puppy I have ever had - or known - and I am convinced she is special, here for a purpose. Don’t care if you do think I’m cranky.
So that was it really. They sorted out all the insurance paperwork for me, did the claim form, and hopefully they won’t forget to send it off this time -
I certainly feel more optimistic than I did before I went.
Will try and get a decent picture of her tomorrow and show you how she’s growing now.
Oh Mups that is really good news, but when I said your fortune may change today I really had a feeling that things would go well.
Give Gertie a big hug from me, she seems to be such a good girl.
Good news for Gertie, hope she thrives from now on.
And of course more Pupdates, (pics)
That’s great news Mups, what a good girl Gertie is too - an ideal patient
Thanks Twinks, Nom and Mags.
Hey Twink, you must clairvoyant when you said about things will change now.
I bought a scratch card yesterday and with all the rushing about since, I forgot to look at it until I got home today. Just scratched it off and won . . . . . £40.
That’s nicer than a poke in the eye with a wooden stick aint it.
Thank you for the update on Gertie Mups, what great news, she is a lovely girl, hopefully you will never have any problems with her.
Give her a big cuddle and kiss from me.
Thanks susie, she certainly has had more than her share of kisses today.
Fantastic news about Gertie
Great news about the scratch card too ! They do say good luck comes in threes so look out for the next thing
That is good news Mups it should put your mind at rest a little.
Now enjoy her
Forget pups Mups…give us yer money
Excellent news about Gertie! Yay!
Here she is.
She looks a little serious, because we’d just had a few words about removing my strawberry netting!

She is just over 3.2 kg now (about 7lbs).
How could you tell her off Mups … just look at that sad little face
Wow…she’s grown so fast :surprised:
Actually just had another look…I see a different size now in relation to the pot and watering can. So not so grown up as I first thought. Still gorgeous though.

I know Mags. It’s her accomplice Nellie, been showing her things I’d rather her not learn.
Naughty Nellie and Gullible Gertie … they make a good pair!
Aww Mups she is gorgeous, but I have to say her angelic little face is starting to show signs of naughtiness. I think mixing with that Nellie could be a mistake
She must be still quite small because 4 of my 5 cats are heavier than her, in fact one is twice her weight. By the time she is the same weight as him I suspect that stawberry net may no longer exist.
