I guess if I am totally honest, I am doing this a bit for myself as well.
I have grown to love this little lady so much, I don’t want to lose her a day before I have to.
Anyway, on a happier note, she went to her first puppy socialisation class at the vets on Thursday evening, but she couldn’t keep her eyes open and nodded off for most of the it. Never mind, maybe she was still listening. 
Tomorrow, weather permitting, the next village has got a ‘Feast Day’ and they are holding a fun dog show in aid of a local animal rescue. Weather permitting, I shall go and enter Gertie in “Cutest Puppy” and Nellie in " Prettiest Bitch."
I’ll let you know how they get on.

Hope the weather holds for Feast Day. Sounds like it will be a fun day surrounded by doggie cuties Mups. Fingers crossed Nellie and Gertie wow everyone as much as they wow us

I agree, Prettiest Bitch doesn’t sound very nice, but they have a “Most Handsome Dog” class for the boys separately, hence the separate class for the girls.

Well I’ve done it. I’ve got Gertie’s referral and spoken to the specialist and I’m taking her down to see them next Friday.
Will keep you posted, but keep your fingers crossed we get some encouraging news please.

I have got a long drive tomorrow. Gertie is going to see the cardiologist (as you are probably bored of hearing about now).
I’d hoped her v-e-r-y expensive insurance would cover the tests and/or treatment, but they devils wouldn’t give me a definite yes or no without seeing a ‘Pre-Authorisation’ form to be sent in by the specialists.
I got the forms, emailed them off for the vets to fill in and submit last Friday hoping to hear back from the insurers before I set off tomorrow.
NOT A WORD. 
Phoned the insurers and was told they have never received the paperwork from the vets.
Phoned the vets. They said they would look into it and call me back, which they did.
You’ve guessed it . . . the paperwork never got sent off!!!

They apologised profusely, they know full well they have been remiss. Trouble is, I don’t want to cancel the appointment now, so unless something can be arranged quickly over the phone or email TODAY, it looks like I’m going to have to take a chance on whether I’ll get reimbursed or not, and depending on what they do, it can cost anywhere between £600 - £1,000. http://yoursmiles.org/csmile/help/c0603.gif
The vets told me to quickly get on to the insurers again, give them my permission to talk direct to the vets, then the vets have got a special number they ring to liase directly with my insurers to sort it out - hopefully.
They are doing this immediately, as I write.
Thank God I phoned and double checked it had all been accepted alright before I set off.
Ok Mups, nothing is going your way recently. We all have spells like this but they do change at some time, so I am just hoping the diagnosis on Gertie is when they will change for you.
