Beautiful! They remind me of two pyjama cases I bought for two of my little girls a few years ago.
She is looking great Mups. What a joy after all the worries when you first got her.
Nice to see that she is growing well, shame shre seems to have lost that lovely colour.
Sheās gone a sort of creamy beige now Nom. She has sort of hazel/lemony eyes and will keep her chocolate brown nose.
My hairdresser calls it a āPeach Blonde.ā
Gertie is beautiful as are all your dogs
Thanks Twink. I had some very exciting news last week.
I was at the vets with the oldest one, and took Gertie along to further her education, and I asked the vet if he had an extra couple of minutes to listen to Gertieās heart murmer, see if it had changed.
It has. He had trouble finding it!! Then he said it WAS still there but much fainter and no where near as bad as it was a few months back.
I was so happy, and very hopeful her next scan after Christmas will show a big improvement.
Yes, theyāre very cuddly and soft EZ. Smashing little characters. Thank you.
Thanks Abbey. x
Gorgeous Gertie and Naughty Nellie ā¦ what a partnership!
Sheās looking good Mups, with a little help from her friend
Thanks Mags. Sheās put about 10 years on me, but I do love her.
Did you see my reply to Twink (post 206), about her heart murmur?
Chuffed to bits I am. I like to think all the spiritual healing I take her for every Monday must be paying off.
Gertie is lovely Mups, as are the others. Good news about her heart murmer too. I hope she does well at the training classes.
Thanks clumsy. I am trying not to get too optimistic, but I must say it is very encouraging and giving me more hope for her future.
Gosh Girtie has grow what a lovely girl.
You must be pleased with her Mups . Good news it sounds like it was a āpuppy murmurā
haha Mupsā¦that made me laugh the 10yrs bit
Sheās still gorgeous and wonderful news re the heart murmur
Thatās good news about Gertieās heart murmur improvement Mups, I hope it continues
What wonderful news about Gertieās heart murmur, Mups, I am so happy for you! That is a lovely photo of her and naughty Nellie together - though I do not believe Nellie deserves such a nickname - she looks far too sweet and innocent!
Well no, I was not led to believe that Meg, that is the extraordinary thing.
After my vet scanned her, the first week I had her, and the heart problem was discovered, I asked for a referral to see a Cardiac specialist. Both people told me it wasnāt the usual puppy murmur they grow out of, her problem was she had a faulty mitral valve which wasnāt able to open and close properly.
It is called Mitral Valve Displasia if you wanted to google it.
I asked if it could be surgically put right and they said no. Surgeons wouldnāt do that on dogs as it nearly always ended up making them worse, so they wouldnāt do it.
They said to treat her as a normal puppy, give her good quality feed, and they want to scan her again nearer her first birthday early next spring.
Now do you see why I am so amazed, and hopefully optimistic.
I know you donāt believe this sort of thing, but it does cheer me to hope that the healing I take her to every week since Iāve had her, is helping her.
Any case, lots of cuddles and a prayer for her is not going to to any harm, and she loves going. Her little tail wags off its hinges as we go through the door.
My vet was very surprised last week at how it had changed and improved so much.
Yes I remember Mups sometimes things change for the better (and the worse) naturally as a puppy grows .
The main thing is Gertie is doing well whatever the reason .
Gertieās quite a gentle, bordering on timid in some circumstances, so it will do her good to do this puppy training course.
She looked quite lost on the first week, but we are on week 3 now (out of 8), and she has decided to make friends with a young labrador pup. Iām ever so pleased to see her play with her new friend.
Last night the instructor said Gertie was āExcellentā with her recall and sit.
I was very proud of my little treasure.
Thatās good Mups if each visit is a āpositive experienceā it will help Gertieās confidence.
