Insulate Britain: Mum on school run who drove at protesters blocking road loses licence

It may be news to me but prove it.

As London gets ever bigger it swallows up places eg Croydon ,Surrey which is now the London Borough of Croydon

Croydon stopped being in a county over half a century ago:

At the time of the Norman conquest of England Croydon had a church, a mill, and around 365 inhabitants, as recorded in the Domesday Book of 1086. Croydon expanded in the Middle Ages as a market town and a centre for charcoal production, leather tanning and brewing. The Surrey Iron Railway from Croydon to Wandsworth opened in 1803 and was the world’s first public railway. Later 19th century railway building facilitated Croydon’s growth as a commuter town for London. By the early 20th century, Croydon was an important industrial area, known for car manufacture, metal working and Croydon Airport. In the mid 20th century these sectors were replaced by retailing and the service economy, brought about by massive redevelopment which saw the rise of office blocks and the Whitgift Centre, the largest shopping centre in Greater London until 2008. Croydon was amalgamated into Greater London in 1965.

So what every area of London was a little village at one time.

So what every area of London didn’t exist at one time.

You are running out of sensible argument clearly shown by your rather desparate nit picking .
The present metropolitan county of Greater London constitutes nearly all of the historic county of Middlesex (which comprises the bulk of Greater London north of the River Thames), parts of the historic counties of Kent, Essex, and Hertfordshire, and a large part of the historic county of Surrey.

listen to whose talkin - stuck in the mud comes to mind - own proverbial I would say!

You’re the one who’s wrong and won’t admit it … :man_shrugging:

Q.E.D.

Yes but as you never say anything sensible no one takes any notice .

I am not wrong

Just gotta say, bits of Cheshire have been slipping into Greater Manchester of late, you used to know where you were with Conurbations.

well if that leads to bigger manchester bums erghhh!!!

Maybe they were targeting Essex Girls on this occasion.

Essex girl, n.
derogatory informal a young working-class woman from the Essex area, typically considered as being unintelligent, materialistic, devoid of taste, and sexually promiscuous.

… for added laughs, and subsequent publicity.

(Laughs! They are a humourless bunch).

The magistrate certainly was probably some middle class woman with plenty of time on her hands and a husband with a good job.

supersition M’Lord supersition - a flirtatious account of no substance!! it has just muddied the case?
