… and the rest of the camp, apart from Owen (who’s not bovvered), feels much the same way.
Some, however, are prepared to give him the benefit of the doubt/chance to prove himself - others, particularly BG, whose mother was a COVID casualty but survived, are less inclined
However, Hancock and Walsh undertook an unpleasant, unlit, underground task with gunge and critters to gain six stars (meals) before entering Mole HQ, from where they will be undertaking missions to gain luxury items for the other campers.
From Mole HQ, Hancock and Walsh took the tunnel to main camp, where their arrival was greeted with … cordial disbelief and much discussion about Matt. Charlene (The Boss) took Matt aside and, in her role as a journalist, conducted a personal “interview” …
I won’t bother with details of the missions but they were completed - Hancock and Walsh won 4 luxury items for the campers and tea & tarts back at Mole HQ for themselves.
Scarlette and George dutifully performed the dunny run - no complaints from BG, just chanting …
The evening meal was possum, possibly trichosurus vulpecula - Owen ate the tail …
…just watched them…so funny, highly entertaining, imo, that’s just my own opinion, I couldn’t stop laughing, well done boys!!..
I don’t think I could be that brave, the size of that spider!
I guess the money they are being paid, would motivate them to keep going, I’m sure they get paid over a £100,000 to take part in that show, it would be interesting to know, how much they actually do get paid.
@Omah , I read when Caitlin Jenner entered I’m a celebrity get me out of here, some years back, she was paid £500,000 ,how true that is, I don’t know, crikey you could buy two houses here for that amount of money, and probably more in other areas,
I mentioned earlier that this is an interesting anthropological experiment. It mighy even be classified as a psychological one.
Certainly the introduction of 2 people with a recently created somewhat checkered reputation, and how interactions might develop will be fascinating indeed.
Certainly a cringeworthy initial experience, although there were times in which I felt slightly more accepting of Hancock as a human. Which I guess is what he’s hoping will be the outcome.
Not sure I agree with his generic plan that we, the public, need to realise that MPs are only human after all. We know that, but they want to wear the crown of being something special and have unusual permissions handed to them, and that comes at a price.
After all, he himself was only diagnosed when at Uni.
Maybe that’s why he was unable to read the finer points of the marriage vows, the laws he helped create, and the bit about it being unethical to offer lucrative contracts to mates without putting them out to tender?
It has been claimed that cast and crew were told to remain at least two metres apart at all times. But, Mike was snapped giggling while he seemingly caught the female worker off guard and pretended to throw her off the pier inbetween shooting scenes for the ITV show.
The crew are also reportedly instructed to wear face coverings to prevent an outbreak – as the woman was seen wearing a black mask over her nose and mouth. The female crew member is said to have been “completely taken by surprise” by the joke.
It’s a strange thing really. On the one hand, challenges are being set which involves eating weird body parts of weird animals which “we” (in the UK, anyway) wouldn’t consider as edible, or challenges which suggest that some things are naturally a bit scary. But, on the flip side of the coin, these creatures really aren’t as dangerous as we might think and so we should kinda live and let live a bit more.
This came up recently, and the company said it complied with all appropriate animal welfare requirements and has relevant vets, inspectors etc around the set at all times. Although I’m not quite sure how they can prevent some creatures from accidentally being trodden on or crushed, nor be certain that animals aren’t scared witless by being enclosed in large numbers in close and unnatural proximity to other creatures.
Thought about my standard answer about the regs. Then applied a touch of reality with a smidgen of imagination. and had no choice but to conclude that you had a point!!
