Yep…My shangri-La Chilli…
Ravello, on the Amalfi coast, but only during the Summer months.
I’m not sure if I posted image correctly!
Ok. I made it.
Beautiful rose….ive travelled , but never to italy !
We visited the Leaning Tower, Florence and Rome during a cruise, I liked what I saw but Mum and Dad loved Sorrento but we didn’t go there, and I would love to visit and spend more time in Italy than you get during a cruise.
Foxy’s world tour…
I need to have a word with the advertising agency, nobody’s turned up…
I too loved Sorrento. Mum and I stayed there for a holiday once, as well as doing day trips from tours.
I’m staying where I am . I already have a sea view.
Yes sorry I know I’m being boring.
I understand ripple
Im staying put also,
But if it was 20 yrs ago before hubbys illness
I would def be going somewhere warmer than the uk with another sea view
I have been a few beach places. Possibly one is the Taiwan on the South Coast. Also on the beach of the very coast of Spain - beyond of Gibraltar (Tarifa.)
Hawai’i and Seward Alaska (though still the U.S) are mind-blowing beautiful, but I’m mostly content with my little getaway place where the dogs can run and the travel time is 30 minutes in the minivan.
Im happy now ,with my beachfront appartment in sussex
Ive been here a year now !!
I think this will be the last of my moves

Looks very satisfactory Cosmos!
Brings back memories, Pevensey and Hastings to the east and Brighton to the west.
I used to cycle over those seven sisters, I’m sorely tempted…
Beautiful pictures thanks for sharing.
I have spent most of my life by the sea in tropical Asia but I do not like the sea water in Thailand, or the Philippines it is way too hot and often around 28 or 29 degrees, which is way too hot for me to swim in, not mentioning the occasional sharks. And the need for round the clock aircoms in summer.
So we are considering retiring in the South of France where the sea water is normally no warmer than 25 or 26. I would also consider the medical facilities and cultural events availability.
Having visited many beaches throughout the world, I am very content to stay here on the Sussex coast where I have pitched camp. Although during a rare harsh Sussex winter Hawaii comes a close second.
If it were only the summar months I’d say Bulgaria but for year-round it would have to be either Thailand or Malaysia. WHY? People - Pace - Weather.
for me it is not so much about a beach apartment more about vital services near by and cost of living to consider as well. As I too live on the south coast of the UK with beaches only minuits away ,getting a beach apartment abroad doesn’t interest me that much
I’ll stay just where I am thanks, at my age and disabilities I’d hate to die in a foreign country…
The NHS have done a good job so far…Long may it continue…
I can think of a few things to say but I’ll keep quiet.
Apart from working away down south for six months, being a self employed courier (only in mainland Britain) and some very nice holidays, I never been more than ten miles away from the house where I was born.
The little village where I live is more or less still the same when I first came to live here over fifty years ago. The Norman Church at the other end of the village still gives services every Sunday and is filled with a now ageing flock preached to by a very nice Indian vicar.
The fields, just one hundred yards away from my house, and stretch into infinity are filled with crops year round, and the lane running through them to the next village has been the location of almost all of my previous marathon training and where I still take regular walks.
My life and heart are here, and wherever I’ve travelled I can’t wait to return to the tranquillity and familiarity of this little oasis in South Yorkshire.
