Ideas For Saving On Heating And Keeping Warm At The Expense Of Others. Any Suggestions?

I can’t see getting rid of your smart phone heating the house much.

$10 a month for unlimited calls and texts? lets do the maths - Electricity costs 22c per Kwh.

10/0.22= 45Kwh for $10

Heaters are about 2KW so that would keep you going for 23 hours, say you are home for 8 hours a day that will keep you warm for nearly three days.

So what are you going to do for the other 27 days of the month? Even worse you have got no phone to chat to friends and relatives to let them know that you are freezing to death , starving and need an ambulance.

Sorry, you need to rethink that idea, it won’t help anyone.

I think you got my drift Bruce without being pedantic. Add together all the savings from Amazon prime, Monthly DD’s for smartphone, netflix etc, charities, lottery tickets, alcohol and any other luxuries, none of which are more important than food or keeping warm.

I agree. You could go even further and move your bed and sofas and tv into the kitchen and turn off the heating and lighting in every other room in the house by simply living in one room like folk used to do in the good old days. And what’s all this nonsense about having to have a shower everyday and have clean underwear daily too?

People used to sew themselves into their underwear over winter .

Eeew!!

So Foxy, you take away their luxuries and their way of communication with others. What do you end up with?
The knock on affect will be worse, isolated, lonely and depressed people with no communication with others. No little luxuries.
Violence, murders, suicide numbers will go up. One parent killing their whole family as life is not worth living.
More pressure on the medical and mental health services.

Now theres a thought Muddy

Muddy, Didn’t it smell a bit?

Aye. A quick dip in a local.pond, stream or sea (depending where you live). Character forming, will get rid of the worse of “it”, environmentalally friendly and saves a fortune on heating water.

Probably a lot !
There’s always cowboy longjohns they have a trapdoor

Are you suggesting that Muddy is so old that she has personal experience of this?

Whats a trapdoor?

A flap covering ones bottom which could be moved out of the way for, um, essential.activities.

Where would that trapdoor be situated, at the front, or the back?

Only in the spring when they unpicked the stitches

Primus, The stitches would be static or fixed hard in situ!

Oh my word! I wish I hadn’t asked now…:face_vomiting:

Heating and a full belly would be the knock on effect Arty, thereby reducing pressure on the NHS.

If it’s packed, there will more than likely be many viruses being exchanged … no thanks. Far better to go down to the library and read from the selection of newspapers.
