I wish I liked soup

indeed we could, have just noticed I spelt, (spelled?) leek as leak  so have edited my post, but error still in your quote.

Don’t worry about it, Maver-rik, I don’t think the spelling police have any jurisdiction here. :policeman:

Mmm. Chop a fresh chilli into it. .Delicious.

Nice simple recipe for ya:

Two tins of condensed bread of chicken soup, poured into oven dish and mix in any bog standard curry powder.

Mix in a couple of chicken breasts chopped up as you like.

Shove in oven for about an hour.

Serve hot with potato croquettes and veg of your choice.

Lovely.

??? Never heard of that one! Mind you - I never use canned soup.

Weird. Am sure I typed cream and not bread!!

In any case, you can make a roux and add chicken stock and a bit of cream to it to emulate the canned soup.

Plenty of recipes out there which explain how in detail.

Dislike soup, it is neither a drink nor a meal.

The Chinese are the only people that can make soup.

Actually I occasionally buy those Campbell Chunky soups divide them in half, add a selection of spices including chilli, cook some rice add the “soup” and pretend it is Thai

Saw one of those TV experiments a while ago.

One group was given hard food with a glass of water.

Another groups was given precisely the same cooked ingredients, but it’d been blended into a soup (using the water),

The second group felt satiated for longer. Something to do with the body not having to break down solids, which uses energy and thus means you need more food/energy sooner.

That’s a feeble excuse for having soup, Dex. :018:

Well I spotted it but didn’t like to ask
not being much of a cook I thought it sounded very fancy and for the connoisseur.

Augustus was a chubby lad;
Fat ruddy cheeks Augustus had;
And every body saw with joy
The plump and hearty healthy boy.
He ate and drank as he was told,
And never let his soup get cold.
But one day, one cold winter’s day,
He scream’d out - “Take the soup away!
O take the nasty soup away!
I won’t have any soup to-day.”

Next day, now look, the picture shows
How lank and lean Augustus grows!
Yet, though he feels so weak and ill,
The naughty fellow cries out still -
“Not any soup for me, I say:
O take the nasty soup away!
I won’t have any soup to-day.”

The third day comes: Oh what a sin!
To make himself so pale and thin.
Yet, when the soup is put on table,
He screams, as loud as he is able, -
“Not any soup for me, I say:
O take the nasty soup away!
I won’t have any soup to-day.”

Look at him, now the fourth day’s come!
He scarcely weighs a sugar-plum;
He’s like a little bit of thread,
And on the fifth day, he was - dead!

I thought it sounded Warped.

No ,
 the soup just sounded posh

I agree with Harbal, it is like giving up alcohol to live five miserable years longer.

Don’t shoot the messenger

I’m in hiding at the moment
Sits in corner

Oh no, that wasn’t my intention, just a comment.

Maybe it sounded posh to you because you are posh.

And maybe it sounded warped to me for a similar reason.

I think I’m in a worse situation.I don’t like it but everyone else in the family loves it.It’s their go to main meal, not just a starter.I have to pretend I’m just as enthusiastic not to be awkward. My self sacrifice does make me feel good but that doesn’t help much.
