Yes :)We take things like that for granted not so lucky in some parts of the world.Recently we had a burst water pipe in the garden, the plumber broke the gas pipe attempting to fix it.That was an interesting 24 hours.
Yes but that’s easy done … I sawed through one once with a hacksaw and a with fag in my mouth.
I can run fast when I have to .
We are lucky to have you here then
Ah … what a kind thing to say …
We certainly are, Smiffy, our Morty is a national treasure!
Old, ancient and corroded around the edges …
That’s good, Tabs, what a relief.
Did you have to run the taps till it came clear again, or was it alright?
@Mups - it looked clear - but I let it run anyway because there was a faint whiff of chlorine (or something) about it.
I don’t know about lovely neighbours (although ours are) but a lovely stranger bought us our cappuccinos yesterday morning. After shopping in M&S foodhall, it is our wont to go for a cappuccino at the Costa Coffee nearby. Unfortunately, yesterday morning due to staff shortages, the walk in side was closed. A lovely girl approached the drive in side and shouted over to us asking what we wanted. V went over and told her, offering to pay her for them. The girl refused saying she had so many free coffees on her phone app it didn’t matter to her. What a wonderful person
That is lovely of your neighbour, but here when our water was off for several hours the water people gave us free bottles of water, a whole packet full of 12 litre bottles. I was very surprised & pleased.
I thought of you today cos a young couple have moved in upstairs and he put my wheelie bin and recycling out on the pavement for me today when he did his own.
Very kind but I guess that means I’m now officially old
That was kind of him. You are probably younger than me though.
Yes you are, clicked on your pic. LOL.
Neighbours and I apologise for poaching Tabby’s post…
We moved house fairly recently - about two and a half years ago. About a year later I got seriously ill and landed in hospital for quite a few weeks. I was out of the loop and my dear wife was having to cope. It didn’t help that Covids came on the scene about then and my wife wasn’t permitted to see me in hospital.
My (new) neighbours rallied forces. Anything my wife needed they got. Even to getting better security locks and fixing the outside lights.
Neighbours? Absolute gems.
I envy you.All our nice old neighbours have gone. The first thing the new ones do is install electric gates, they can’t even be arsed to get out of their cars.
Funny you should say that! I’ve got new neighbours, young couple. The first thing they did was install electric gates!
Must be a millennial thing
Any more thefts of plants?
Nope. All the good stuff’s gone
Not much good for you but they will still be growing somewhere
