I booked and paid for my flight six weeks ago at a cost of $350. (Economy)
Checked that flight just now, 4 seats left at $1374, one way. (Economy)
bon voyage! Happy travels.
enjoy
Bret, its not clear, are you going “One Way”?
I think Bret said a while back that he was moving there for good.
Yes, I thought he did, just wanted a quicker option to scrolling back.
I think it was Bruce that expressed commiserations as he doesn’t rate Melbourne as a place to live. I’ve heard it’s very nice from those who have visited, but then tourists from London think anything is an improvement.
Welcome Brett ![]()
To four seasons in one day Melbourne.
It won’t be as hot as Perth anyway.
It sounds Perthict ![]()
I think you need new dentures ![]()
@AnnieS
The original ticket is one way on Qantas. Returning via Virgin.
Then driving to Melbourne late May.
Good luck with Melbourne Bret.
Have a safe journey, and enjoy.
Good luck Bret, enjoy the Virgin on your return trip ![]()

what they didn’t mention is those more expensive seats are the pilot and co- pilot seats with 2 other cockpit crew.

My middle son rates Melbourne very highly he reckons the social scene is brilliant, I just think the weather is miserable (four seasons in one day). Victoria is fine in the summer but too cold for me in the winter.
There is a BIG Melbourne/Sydney rivalry I am more of a harbour city person (Melbourne’s beaches are a standing joke). Somebody has to live in Melbourne, just not me.
BTW Talking of air fare rises my daughter checked my flight to the UK it has gone up $6000 since I booked, probably more now.
Bruce
your flight to the UK is more expensive for one reason. You taking 3 kangaroos on the flight with you.

Safe journey Bretrick, I’m looking forward to the photos… ![]()
I think if I lived in Aus, Perth would be the place for me.
Perhaps just outside, I couldn’t stand living in a metropolis… ![]()
I like the sound of Melbourne.
My boy works for Australia’s largest horticultural company, he’s based in North NSW, been given the option of moving to Melbourne. He’s thinking about it, he’s also waiting to hear about another position: GM of a number of berry farms across southeast Asia.
wow that is some hike! lucky you booked yours early.
