Because of my science/technology/engineering background, I’ve got a foot (305mm ) in both camps and can, more or less instantaneously, convert from one to t’other.

And a yard of ale?

I’ve just had a shock - I’ve just weighed myself, I’m wearing a track suit and had my brekkie a couple of hrs ago and weigh 8st with a full tum.
It wasn’t so long ago I was 8st 7lbs.
So I got the tape measure out and checked my height.
I used to be 5’5 and a bit.
I’m now 5.'3 and a bit :no_mouth:

I’ve always been around about the same size in inches but in weight I used to be 10st when younger, which never changed, and I was slim.

The only time I went over 10st was when I was 9mths pregnant and then I weighed in at 65kg at the hospital. I’ve just checked 65kg = 10st 3lbs.

I’m still slim, but a bit blobbier, and now 2st lighter.
I know it’s the osteoporosis but my bones must be empty now

Our joints and cartilage shrink as we age. I am was 6’ 6" and I’ve last a full inch over the years. My wife was 4’ 10" and through spinal surgery and new hips etc she is now 4’ 8+1/2" so as you can see , we all loose height one way or another; some more than others.

Oooh yes quite so LD… I know we all shrink, it was just the weight, or lack of it, that was a shock.

I might be wrong, but I think we also tend to lose some weight as we age past a certain point in our lives. I have and my wife has too; nothing major, but a few pound as the years have past since retirement even though our food intake is about the same.

The same happens during the course of a day, our joints, cartilage and particularly our spines all compress with the weight of our bodies and the effects of gravity. This is something I always noticed after working a night shift and getting in the car to drive home, the rear-view mirror always had to be adjusted from where it was for the drive into work the previous day.

Crikey, I’m little enough as it is…I really don’t want to be smaller :astonished:

But our ear’s continue to grow…

You know, that means a lot to me Baz. I frequently cannot understand why I have to adjust the mirror when I’ve never even been near it nor touched it.

I was figuring it was loose or the spiders and dust had moved it. Or at the very least I was losing my marbles .

S’ok Pixie, we’ll be careful where we stand

With a big chin and big ears apparently  I don’t believe that…besides, by the time we get to that age of worrying about such things, society will have changed enough to adore little chinny people! :joy:

Ah, but if this clever Alec had found a song with your actual name tagged into it, that would put your name out right across the internet and I’m not like that, so there :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:
