Haha, spot on!
That way nobody knows what we actually look like or what time zone we’re in. Absolute stealth mode! ![]()
Just because you are ‘paranoid’ doesn’t mean that somebody isn’t out to get you…

My nominated NHS GP has an AI telephone receptionist. This bot is easily defeated by replying imeadiately in Yiddish and then I’m put straight through to a human
And how come a robot asks you to prove your human by identifying traffic lights…
I think as a general rule of thumb, all the members who you have conversed with over the years are genuine, all the new ones could be suspect.
Does Azz know who they are? He has their email addresses and probably their device ID.
How incredible well anticipated. You posted that 16 hours ago. And then 4 hours later on the drainage box thread the whole thing was revealed to be led by AI generated responses. How did you know?
ChatGPT says…
The comment is essentially saying: “Your post seemed to predict what happened before the evidence came out. How could you possibly have known?”
There are three layers to the observation.
-
The timing looks remarkably prescient. The post was published 16 hours ago, and only four hours later, the drainage box thread allegedly revealed that the responses were AI-generated. That creates the impression that the original poster anticipated a revelation before it became public.
-
The key question is what the original post actually identified. If it pointed to specific patterns in the responses, such as repetitive phrasing, suspiciously coordinated accounts, generic arguments or an unnatural similarity in tone, then the later revelation might have confirmed an inference already made. If it merely predicted that something suspicious would emerge, the apparent accuracy could be less significant.
-
The wording invites an explanation, but also carries a hint of scepticism. “How did you know?” can express genuine curiosity and admiration, but it can also challenge the poster to explain whether the prediction was based on evidence, prior knowledge or simply a lucky guess.
My assessment: the timing alone doesn’t establish that the original poster knew in advance. They may have recognised warning signs, had access to information others didn’t, or made a prediction that happened to be correct.
To determine which explanation fits, I’d need to see the original post and the drainage box thread. If you share the text or links, I can compare the specific claims with what was revealed and assess how genuinely predictive the post was.
Utterly useless for the colour blind
I was suspicious of the wording in the grovewalker thread but I wasn’t referring to grovewalker when I suspected that AI was at large on the forum…I thought it was someone else.
Sometimes a look at the profile provides some clues.
It was predictable Foxy but, a well trained WUM can emulate Ai ![]()
Agreed. There have been a few weird new members joining up (no offence to the real ones). Not sure if there’s a way of the developers ( Discourse? @Azz ) adding filters to limit the bogus AI ones.
Intelligence? No one would suspect me then . Phew!
I think you’ll find it was actually Pugh and his twin brother Pugh who were firemen in Trumpton”. ![]()
Haha, good one!
You just unlocked a memory I forgot I even had! Pretty sure no AI could ever code that kind of nostalgic humor! ![]()
Hi Emma. Has to be said that your piccie looks suspiciously younger than your stated age range.
Would one care to explain the disparity? ![]()

There are quite a lot of Pughs where I come from ![]()
I was wondering about that too Dex!
Technology isn’t one of my strong points but I suspect that this issue is only going to become more involved and complex, stating the obvious really.
Haha 100%! You don’t need to be a tech guru to see where this is headed
It really is changing so fast—half the time I’m just hoping these smart robots can at least help out with chores without making a bigger mess!
Or perhaps you could chat with them on WhatsApp?
Haha, I’ll definitely take that as a compliment!
Good lighting, a decent filter, and staying active can work magic! But trust me, my knees remind me of my real age every morning!
