Yes Chillie, l have noticed with people who take garlic tablets, that their body emits the odour of garlic.
They probably don’t know about the odourless ones!
I once heard, if two people eat garlic, they won’t smell it off each other. How can that be?
I adore garlic! I add it to every meal I have, although I couldn’t eat a clove of it, like a sweet or something. But crushed, ground, roasted etc…I’m all in. I tried to grow it without much success I have to say. Maybe next season though!
This is my recipe for Aglio e Olio, better known in our house as Garlic Ghetti. It’s yum and very cheap and quick to make, but be warned, you will ponk! The secret is using the water you cooked the sphaghetti in to make it creamy
So you simmer about 200 grams of quite fine sphagetti for 10 minutes. Meanwhile chop finely but don’t crush 4 nice big garlic cloves and fry them in 3 tablespoons of olive oil, gently, they need to be soft and golden but not browned, add some of the water you cooked the sphagetti in to make a sauce and then simmer it to reduce it. Drain the spaghetti, and stir it into the garlic oil, with some chopped parsley. Serve it up sprinkled with Parmesan cheese
I can’t do with people smelling of garlic .
People who live near me are always cooking with it and with an open window in summer so it drifts along to my home .
Is there nothing made with garlic added where it doesn’t taste?
I’ve had that and it’s yummy. Also nice with some lemon rind grated in. I think it may have been a jamie recipe or similar. Unfortunately I’ve stopped eating pasta, even the GF version.
