Helping someone who is morbidly obese

Good thinking, thank you. It’s great to have some fresh minds thinking on it and new ideas

Maree, I’m keeping my fingers crossed that he will come through this alright. Covid affects people in the strangest ways, so try not to worry too much. Are you able to stay in touch with him if he’s isolating?

Oh dear, has he been jabbed? I know several people that had caught it after being double jabbed and they only had it very mildly. None of them were obese though.

Thank you.

Yes, we’ve got phones and messenger and mutual friends living close by.

He’s OK at the moment, badly upset stomach and flu symptoms. He’s had both jabs so I’m praying he’ll be alright but his weight is against him of course.

Problem is, he’s just left his sisters, so she and her family will need testing, he’s moved in with his friend, who is also clinically vulnerable
(half a lung missing) and he works on the till at Asdas, so could have infected a lot of people.

The thing is, you can’t force someone to go on a diet, unless his GP tells him to.
The only thing you can do is try and explain to him about healthy eating. I am surprised that he is that weight because he has two jobs and is quite active.

Hopefully he will recover from this. Who knows, this might be the very catalyst required.
