One smart, wall-mounted, 42" telly in the living room propped up by a Firestick but not using Amazon’s offer at all but free to air channels and their media libraries only. If I want to watch sport, then I do it on my 17" notebook.
It would appear by all your smart stuff connected to the internet I’m still living in the dark ages…
We have one mahoosive smart tv in the lounge. It has Netflix and a Firestick too
If there are tv quibbles I either record or retire to bed with the laptop

I have 5 televisions that are either Panasonic or Sony… Plasma and LCD, all must be approx 15 years old?. All their pictures are excellent.
My wall mounted television in my kitchen is a smart one, 24”. Polaroid brand from Asda £99. The picture is excellent too.
They do me fine and as long as it’s a good picture, l don’t care.
I’m not sure if they use more electricity than smart televisions?
I can already imagine the reaction if i took a laptop to bed.

Do you think that they want everyone to be on the net…? Telly, phone or Alexa…Why?
Lets put it this way to be realistic. Which would you rather do watch television in the late evening or go to bed and listen to the OH snoring their head off so you can’t sleep? I rest my case

Got one very large smart TV that’s 4k to watch 4k movies and Freeview TV. Also it’s connected to the internet to watch YouTube, got a firestick to watch Amazon Prime.
