Have you been to a big concert?

Sounds just wonderful SSG…you had great benefits where you worked, as did I at Quality Records. Their Ontario Sales Division was part and parcel with their Promotional Dept…and they shared ever so nicely with their employees…which made for an awesome working space and plenty of harmony…

Seen status quo twice at Bridlington, 77 and 84, went to the nec in 94 or 5, to a charity concert, featuring elo 2, Roy wood, Tom Robinson, and a few others, and only last Saturday went to see Caro Emerald at York Barbican, she wa brilliant!

I went to the Rolling Stones Concert in Hyde Park but arrived late, the stage was so far away that the Stones were tiny figures. As I recall the stage was in a vast bowl we were on the rim of that bowl. In the end went back to Brixton and listened to our Stones records

Great list Moscow. Seen about half of those myself

Yep, I was at that Status Quo gig in Brid too, Primus. “The End Of The Road” tour I believe

I had a friend who loved Tom Jones, I never really thought that much about him. She wanted to go to his show but had no one to go with and asked me if I would go. I didn’t want her to miss out so I agreed to go and boy am I glad I did. I did a complete turnaround and ended up loving him. He is the greatest showman and certainly knows how to get an audience going. He was FABULOUS.

I went to see Shirley Bassey at Batley Variety Club, she was fabulous too.

I’ve also seen Il Divo in concert. Brilliant.

Those are the only ones I’ve seen. I would LOVE to see Elton John, I bet he is fabulous too.

Saw Eric Clapton and Elton John at Wembley stadium in 1982 what a wonderful gig that was, then saw Eric Clapton again in 1984 I think it was his Unplugged tour at the Albert Hall ,never to be forgotten.

A very underated group in this country but very big in Germany was
Barcley James Harvest a brilliant group from Newcastle saw them many times back in the late seventies and never to be forgotten Curved Air again a very popular group from the seventies
Also saw The Hollies and Suzy Quattro sexy Suzy.

We weren’t late arriving at Euston from Coventry but as soon as we got on the Tube, we noticed how busy it was with “young people” - by the time we got to Hyde Park, a crowd had become a crush, so we got nowhere near the stage, either … :frowning:

But it didn’t matter … an estimated 250,000 to 500,000 people were “diggin’ it, man” - spliffs were being passed around by the thousand and the haze of smoke was 3 feet deep … :002:

I’ve been to a few, this was definitely one off the best.

I remember seeing them.Long John Baldry had all the girls swooning and Rod looked very gay.How very wrong…we all were.

I was paying the lovely Julie more attention … :007:

Oh, I love Shirley Bassey…
This is my life.

I love this lady, and she is a LADY, Wow !!

What a beautiful photo…love it.

WOW, this must have been wonderful…
Thanks Filly…

Oh Missy, you saw Neil Diamond also…great !!

Saw Kitty Wells in a small concert in Toronto…

Rod Stewart on the left; Long John Baldry next to him; the lovely Julie Driscoll next to him; Brian Auger on the right …

Oh, I forgot Stompin Tom. I can’t remember if I saw him in Hamilton or Toronto. I lived in Hamilton, so that is probably where I saw him in concert, but there is a place in Toronto called the Horshoe Tavern, and they have many great artists there and I went regularly and I know he was there also…
This guy brought his own piece of wood to stomp on. He was friendly and lots of fun. I loved him…

He talks about Tillsomburg…and picking at the tobbaco farms, my girl friend was one of the big Tillsomburg farmers…and I lived close by also…

I didn’t give this guy enough credit, He was wonderful and grew up in our East Coast of Canada (PEI), but he also lived in Ontario where I live…

OMG! Rod Steward. I did not recognize him.
But don’t they look rather dapper indeed.
That is a fab picture.

I’ve seen Status Quo four times…their concerts were always such fun…I hate just sitting and watching you have to get up and dance…Quo were great at that and other bands too…

How could anyone just sit in their seats and watch to Rocking all Over The World? Simply not possible

One of the greatest live bands in their heyday, Summer. And I agree, a seated concert at a Quo gig just wouldn’t be right would it?
I know in their later years they did a few acoustic tours but so do the Eagles and they can still be brilliant.
Rick Parfitt has been gone almost a year already. One of the greats.
