Sounds good so far; she’s in good hands, merz; hope you can get a decent sleep tonight. Fingers crossed all goes well for her…
Thanks Mags…Certainly are being thorough…am very impressed with them. Don’t feel too stressed, and it helps to know that she’s not left on her own overnight- they have night staff on and they are going to monitor her closely. Might be a different story when I go to bed and my brain becomes active:lol:
Thanks Eileen. At least they have ruled out her bladder which is good news. Will get more results tomorrow. Apologies for not joining you in the small hours, but to my amazement went to sleep and didn’t wake till about 5am-decided I was too cosy and warm to get up at that time, so stayed where I was:-)
Sounds like she’s in good hands Merz and they are being very thorough and how lovely that Hatti was still wagging her tail after the tests
Hope you’re not feeling too stressed by it all and just think this time tomorrow she’ll be home with you:-D:-D
I’m so glad to hear something positive and it sounds to me like Hatti is in excellent, caring hands.
I was thinking about you this afternoon wondering how you’d got on, but all seems to be going well, which is such a blessing.
Marian, Hatti’s tail never stops wagging-even when she’s asleep:-) I’m ok thanks. Unfortunately she won’t be home tomorrow Apparently after Cystoscopy there is a risk of bleeding and blood clot developing so they’ll be monitoring closely day and night. Friday is the day for coming home up to now.
By the time the Hatti saga is finished, we’ll all be qualified in knowing about canine urinary problems!!!
Thank you Mollie. She has her own personal Vet and personal Student Vet…beginning to think she is being better looked after than some human patients in hospital!
Ooh! Hatti is certainly getting VIP treatment, no wonder she’s wagging her tail! ;-)
Oh yes Mags, only the best for the Hatti girl
So glad to hear some positive news of Hatti’s tests. Been thinking of you and Hatti today as well. Glad she’s in good hands and receiving the best treatment - they’re our loving pets and deserve nothing less.
Fingers crossed for more positive news tomorrow.
Thank you Carmen. Would do anything for her. You’re right, they deserve nothing but the best…
You’re going to have a lot to live up to Merz with all this VIP treatment she’s getting!! Oh didn’t realise she wasn’t coming home til Friday, you’ll have to make yourself busy tomorrow!
As a matter of interest what were her symptoms at the beginning of all of this?
beginning to think she is being better looked after than some human patients in hospital!
If my recent experience is relevant, then she is, bless her!
Marian, she was supposed to be coming home Thursday, only found out today she wasn’t coming till Friday. Got my day planned for tomorrow-shopping, cleaning all through and in the middle of all meeting a friend from my own Vets for coffee, so my day should go quickly.
Her symptoms were urinating excessively and excessive drinking. It started off as Cystitis in Feb. 2010-couldn’t get it cleared so she had biopsies taken then and it turned out to be severe chronic cystitis with ulcerated bladder-took six months to clear. Started off the same, Cystitis, at end of June this year but no treatment has cleared it this time, so further investigations have had to be taken and these could only be done at Liverpool, but she’s definitely in the right place to get it sorted…
Eileen, my Sister’s Mother-in-Law has just recently been in hospital, and my Sister said that Hatti is better looked after by the Vet than what MIL had been. There just wasn’t enough staff on the ward, especially at night, to look after the patients as they should. Sister and hubby were also taking food into her as she wouldn’t eat the hospital food…very worrying what is happening in some hospitals today…
Oh poor Hatti but have been really uncomfortable for her and I guess it must have been difficult for you as well with her wanting to constantly wee
Lets hope for good news in the morning
I’ve coped with it so long, it’s almost become routine…middle of the night in winter were the worst times, but we cope don’t we when we have pets:-)
Hoping for some good news today Merz and hope you slept OK last night again. Sounds like Hatti is getting the best treatment and you can’t ask for more than that. Hugs Val x
Hi Merz I do hope there is some resolution to Hatti’s problem when you go to pick her up tomorrow. The condition must be upsetting for both of you.
I wonder if the problem might be a short urethra which allows the bacteria easy access to the bladder. What is confusing, if the problem is ‘structural’ you would think Hatti would have always had it.
I don’t know Hatti’s history, whelping and spaying can occasional lead to problems with the urethra, we though this was the case with Millie but it turned out to be something different.
Merz, sounds like Hatti-girl is being very well cared for, that’s good. It’s Friday tomorrow, she’ll be back home with you. I bet you can’t wait? When Murphy was in for that week I was sooooooo tempted to travel up and see him but I knew he’d think he was coming home with me, so I didn’t. I did pester the vets constantly! I thought of you both yesterday and am glad you’re keeping busy today.
I didn’t realise Hatti’s homecoming wouldn’t be until Friday, either:-( I truly hope all goes well for her today and I’m sure she will really look forward to seeing you tomorrow.
