Hammer's odds 'n' ends

Love the Snow Patrol one Chasing Cars.

George my friend, I can do that too (lay down, do nothing but dream) usually after Iā€™ve quaffed a tot of liquid morphine.:lol::lol:

This is from the 1972 album: Living in the Past. by Jethro Tull.
I would like to dedicate this to my good mate of long years now, Henry, who has not been at all well and deserves a boost.
Donā€™t look up ā€˜Hā€™ you know what happens, give it rice son!

When youā€™re falling awake and you take stock of the new day,
and you hear your voice croak as you choke on what you need to say,
well, donā€™t you fret, donā€™t you fear,
I will give you good cheer.

Life Is A Long Song

Medwyn Goodall, from the 1990 album: Merlin.

Oh my goodness, thereā€™s a name I havenā€™t heard of for donkeyā€™s years!! Just listened to it, very good. Thanks for posting the link

Iā€™ve got Medicine Woman as well and just listened to that as well. Must dig out my cd.

Glad you liked, Mrs H is a big fan and has a lot of his stuff some of which I really like.

A reflective mood for a Friday.

Family: A band I saw many times, from the IOW to Bickershaw and places in between, still fondly remembered.

This one is from their first Album: Music in a Dollā€™s House (1968)

Mellowing Grey

Mellowing grey, in misty morningā€™s day
My thoughts turn to you, kingfisher blue
Loveliness born, in velvet shades of dawn
Joy from your eyes, soft summer skies

All things within the world supreme
I compare with the love that is my dream.

This is from their second album : Family Entertainment (1969)

Weavers Answer

Weaver of life, let me look and see
The pattern of my life gone by Shown on your tapestry.
Just for one second, one glance upon your loom
The flower of my childhood could have fit within this room
Does it of my youth show, tears of yesterday?
Broken hearts, within a heart, as love first came my way.

Enjoyed listening to the Family videos Hammer, havenā€™t heard of them before

A couple from the Quo to ease into Monday.
These both feature the band having a day or two out with our service peeps.

Jam Side Down

In The Army Now

Jethro Tull, another favourite band that go back a long wayl and who are still working today. This first appeared on the bands second album ā€˜Stand Upā€™ way back in 1969.

Always a little different, this was a live version from the superb venue at Montreux.

Bouree

Have just listened to these too and enjoyed it. The singer has an unusual ā€˜warblingā€™ voice. Like you, I havenā€™t heard of them before either.

This also features Roger Chapman the distinctive voice behind Family.
The track, from the album ā€˜Crisesā€™ by Mike Oldfield would have been nothing without the input from Chappo.

The album was released in May of 1983 and they soon saw the potential of this track as it was put out as a single in September.

Thought you might find this amusing Georgeā€¦I hope the link works.

Janela darlinā€™ - the original of this was written and performed by Gerard Hoffnung. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zZUJLO6lMhI

Thanks for the link Uncle Joeā€¦what an amazing man, and to die so young! Makes you wonder what he would have gone on to achieve.

Not wishing to be churlish in any way but try as I might I cannot find any musical content in it at all.
Sorry.

Very good, enjoyed that

A pleasant little piece from Jethro Tull. Taken from the Album:Stand Up, released in 1969.

We Used To Know

Whenever I get to feel this way
Hard to find new words to say
I think about the bad old days
We used to know

Nights of winter turn me cold
Fears of dying, getting old
We ran the race, the race was won
By running slowly

Could be soon weā€™ll cease to sound
Slowly upstairs, faster down
Then to revisit stony grounds
We used to know

Remembering mornings, shillings spent
Made no sense to leave the bed
The bad old days they came and went
Giving way to fruitful years

Saving up the birds in hand
While in the bush the others land
Take what we can before the man
Says its time to go

Each to his own way, Iā€™ll go mine
Best of luck with what you find
But for your own sake remember times
We used to know

One by Loreena Mckennitt and taken from her album: Elemental. This was originally recorded in 1985 but has been remastered and released again since.

She Moved Through The Fair

Just beautiful, she has a lovely voice, quite haunting and spiritualā€¦ been listening to some of the other videos of hers whilst I was thereā€¦ think Iā€™ll probably have to download an album :-D:-D
