I hope all is well in your corner of the world. A bit damp here - think it must have rained overnight. When I was out for my walk earlier the trees were dripping all over me.
That nice Mr Amazon will be delivering a book to me later - a history of medieval Astrology. Painstakingly translated from Latin and published by a friend from another forum. That should keep me quiet for a while.
Busy in the kitchen until it arrives - did a raid on the butcher’s yesterday - have a large gammon joint to cook, and going to make some Irish Onion and Garlic soup as well.
Good Morning ST and all who follow.
Just woken up, and seeing ST’s post thought, that was a good sleep, today being Tuesday.
Booster jab tonight, but no luck yet getting a Flu Jab, there appears to be a shortage of vaccine around here.
Hopefully back to sleep soon for a few more hours.
Have a good day all.
It has been cold but sunny without the wind from the Antarctic, only 19’ but no wind chill to factor in This time of year we expect temperatures to be in the mid to high 20s, hate this cold.
Got my lawn mowed and sprayed Roundup over a lot of the grass on my block side of the new path - no more mowing of council land for me. Once the grass has died i will start planting cuttings of something impossible to kill.
Yesterday received a message from my DIL saying she was a close contact of a Covid case in her footie team (she visited on the weekend) fortunately she tested negative so all is well.
@SilverTabby I changed the title of this thread to Tuesday from Friday. It’s still Monday here and it’s messing with my head to think I already lost a week. If you want to change it back, you can hit the pencil near the title and change it back to Friday.
Feeling happy on this Monday night. I got a chore done last night that I’ve been dreading. I’m glad it’s done.
Good morning everybody! Its mild and raining here which is a bit uncomfortable, since the heating also switched on for some reason. Moving furniture around the rooms today, just for a refresh. My cushions from China finally arrived after 3 weeks of waiting and they are not what was pictured, so they’ll have to go back. Other than that, nothing much doing. Have a great day everyone
More housework to do today. I have been under the weather & feeling lazy lately.
Later, a walk round the local pond & out for a meal with Ady & Paula tonight.
PK - good luck with returning goods to China. I tried but ended up not bothering. Much too much hassle & very expensive. I hope you get a ‘returns’ label. I didn’t!
 Good morning from a sunny south coast where after a very heavy dew, the day is warming up already. Whatever you are up to, I hope it all goes well and to plan
Good morning from a damp but mild Weald. Was expecting a new fridge / freezer today but now put back till Friday. Hey ho not to worry, gives me a bit more time to get things ready. Have a good day whatever your agenda.
Good morning all, late today as we had a longer walk than usual as it’s such a grand autumn morning, and the forest really is at it’s colourful best at the moment.
We are visiting relatives for lunch at Derby today in the pub, it’s been awhile so looking forward to that. Nothing else planned.
helpful local council NOT !
Had an email from a pal who also has a boarding kennels in the West Midlands. When I was selling mine one person who wanted to buy bought another instead. It has now been closed down as it does not meet the new bylaw standards. Also my pal is going to stop trading for the same reason, so that well be two less places to board a pet.
So what has happened? the local council are giving so called inspectors a “tick sheet” to work by irrespective of their lack of knowledge about boarding kennels and catteries. No consideration of how good or popular they are. My pal has had his for at least 30 years with a great reputation, but that means nothing to these “inspectors”.
Makes me so happy I sold up before being forced to close irrespective of the amount of work to get them decent and build up a huge cliental.
Good morning everyone dull and damp here, the sun tried to break through but retreated again.
I have just been out for frozen peas, Waitrose never seem to have them and they are a lovely addition to the spicy wild rice and grasses that I have with chick pea curry .
Chloe went back to the vets yesterday for another check on the pad. The vet doesn’t know what caused the problem with the pad which is next to the amputated toe but he doesn’t think the two are relate and doesn’t want to investigate by taking a sample which could make the pad harder to heal so she has another dressing and more antibiotics. I will take the dressing off at the weekend and she will wear her tubigrip and stripy cotton socks in the house (made from a T shirt) and her boot outside indefinitely.
Bless her she has been so good and doesn’t mind having things on her foot. Since having the operations, now when I get down on the floor and stroke her she gives me he half closed ‘soft’ eyes and makes a little cooing sound.
