Good morning all, a clear blue sky here and not so cold, looks like being a nice day ahead…
We have visitors again for lunch, my mum, eldest daughter and her husband so I’ll be dishing up a vegetable curry and Rosemary is making a rhubarb crumble for dessert, so nothing planned other than that.
I took the bin out and rang the council to get an 80 litre bin (saves over $100 on the rates) and got a heap of clothes out on the line.
This morning I had a delivery of an Oodie from my daughter today, It is being washed as I type. It looks really warm. I shall look as sexy as the person in the photo as I lounge about the house.
The wind has died down to a very cool but reasonable day.
Waiting in for Mr Amazon - bringing me some Epson ink cartridges.
Had sad news by email this morning - a friend - who lived in Newton Aycliffe - has died from Clostridium difficile (C. diff). Not heard from her for a while - her neighbour found cards with my email on and kindly let me know.
Sorry to hear about your friend, Tabby. I learned about C. Diff when working in the hospital labs, how easy it is for inpatients on antibiotics to succumb to it.
My plan for today is to make my way to the sea front to try and see the fly past, which should be forming off our coasts. It is also reported that the Red Arrows will fly over Lowestoft. Yay, double yay and all the yays! I hope to find a bench, settle down, with my camera at the ready. (Leaving Holly at home for this, though.)
Then back home to walk her, have lunch and maybe do some housework. Been neglecting it for a bit. Oops.
just been for a walk with Sue and Teazle, longer walk than I usually do but no steep slopes to go up. So quite chuffed I did it without too much bother
Morning all.
It was beautiful all morning, but clouding over a bit now.
I’ve got a bit of a sore throat this morning, and don’t feel 100%. Hope it’s nothing sinister.
So much to do outside, so will just have a bit of Quiche for lunch, and then get cracking.
Well, despite a good hour wait watching out to sea, we (me and other onlookers) only saw five aircraft right in the distance but…get this…the Red Arrows flew right overhead of us! Too quick to grab the phone for a photo, but at least I saw them. I spent a frantic 10 minutes or so trying to get a signal to download or view flight radar, but nothing doing.
Good afternoon, everyone!
Currently enjoying the first day of a two day bank holiday. The sun is struggling to radiate some degree of heat, but a nice day nonetheless. Very slow pace at home today, a few hours of work and a little bit of training (few weights) and cooking for the family. Catering for taste and diet, we have lentil stew, BBQ jackfruit, wild rice, vegetables, vegan sausage roll, roasted sweet potatoes and plain potatoes, home made muffins with a heavy slathering of ‘frosting’ - salted caramel flavour courtesy of Sainsbury’s - and a basic salad. There are few other things around that the family can eat, so hoping for an afternoon of peace to read. Currently reading the 7th instalment of the Orphan X series: Dark Horse. A change from John Connolly’s Charlie Parker series which went a little wayward with the writing (think he had a ghost writer on that last one). Have shoved the work related reading to the bottom of the reading list today.
Will go for a drive later in the evening.
Hi SilverTabby,
It gives it a wonderful flavour, which helps, as it’s fairly tasteless in general. I tend to gravitate towards this one from Morrisons when I’m feeling a little lazy.
Thanks for sharing that, M44. I’m a dietary vegan so I’m always on the lookout for things to eat. I’ve seen a lot of YouTube videos on jackfruit, but rarely see people posting about it. I hope to try it someday.
Hi Butterscotch!
Vegan for nigh on ten years now. Family are a mix of vegetarians, meat eaters, pescatarians and those open to anything as long as it’s food. Hope you get a chance to try it, it’s an interesting first experience.
