My early morning walk along the river side was lovely.
Going to spend time in the kitchen today. Bought a small(ish) pumpkin yestermorn, sliced and cooked it last night with onion, garlic, herbs and a potato. Going to add a little fresh cream and blitz it into soup. Saved the seeds, washed them and rolled them in a clean tea towel - left them to dry overnight. Going to roast them in butter and garlic salt to make a tasty snack.
@Psmith - Had ambitions to be a chef at one time - attended night school two evening per week after work - but could not cope with drawing, skinning, dealing with entrails etc., Our lovely ( but mad as a hatter ) Italian tutor suggested it was probably not for me. Was there long enough to win my first Sabatier knife - which I still use today. The rest is self taught - mostly trial and error - but I really do love to cook!
I had a visitor on a sunny but windy day. Only my second visitor for the three months of lockdown - my youngest son came down for the weekend but because is at sea from Monday until December he let the rego on his car lapse so he had to come down by train.
He decided that Wollongong is too far for him to travel on the train so I had to drive up to Waterfall to pick the lazy bastard up (Waterfall is the edge of the Sydney Suburban rail network.).
Anyway as soon as he arrived I had him helping me with all the jobs that i can’t do by myself - Helping repairing my back gate, moving some bricks from the front garden to the back and a few other odd jobs (there is a price to pay for driving him).
This evening we have a booking at the club for a meal on its first weekend open since the lockdown started. The earliest I could get in was 7.45pm, they have reduced capacity because of social distancing (one person per 4 sq m) I will be starving by then but we will go early for a few beers beforehand.
It’s been 2 years today Holly and I moved here to Suffolk from London, and I don’t regret it one iota. I don’t think she does either, the friends she’s made, lol.
Good morning everyone! Its quite cold up here - the heating hasn’t turned off by itself, I think its only about 6 degrees. No plans yet, but it looks like it might be a nice day. have a nice one everybody
Morning all, it’s a very foggy day here, well ‘thick cloud’ is what the weather app says. I came across five gorgeous lengths of jersey fabric that I bought in the summer and forgot all about, so I’m busily planning what to make with some of it - one particularly soft one is earmarked for PJs for my granddaughter, which she does need, so they’re on my to do list. But today I’m planning to finish an embroidered rope bowl that I started yesterday but was interrupted. I have several to make for Christmas presents.
Babysitting this evening so my daughter can have a rare night out with the girls.
My day will be much the same as it was yesterday. The swollen ankle has responded to ice & elevation but the trapped nerve is as fierce as ever.
No way could I have walked round Blackpool. Feeling sorry for myself that I had to cancel it though. I was really looking forward to some sea air.
@carol - Good grief - you are in the wars, Carol, I hope it all sorts itself out for you very soon. Nothing worse than being in constant pain. Have a hug or two
Good morning everyone the sun is out, my washing is drying on the line, my booster vaccination aches have gone , Waitrose order is put away , lunch is ready to cook, and I am about to take Chloe for a pre lunch walk.
After lunch deadheading and restuffing a pillow which is now too soft.
