Good Morning Monday, 14th April 2025

Good morning all on another lovely autumn morning.

I went for my walk as usual this morning and took a pic for @Bretrick gnarly tree thread but I couldn’t find it so it will have to go here.

In a scene from The Birds I was followed by a flock of Corellas making an outrageous amount of noise., this is about half of them eyeing me with evil intent.

Of course being a Monday it was coffee and cake meeting time, always good to catchup, on the way home I passed this Jasmine, the smell was beautiful. Pretty this forum doesn’t have smellovision.

In a couple of hours I will set off for Canberra and my date with Pompeii tomorrow. Am more than a bit excited by the prospect (and it is a few days away).

Have a wonderful Monday.

Take care…

Great pictures @Bretrick, I’ve always wondered about kangaroos, are they usually docile animals? I’ve read about them attacking humans, but perhaps only if they feel threatened? Perhaps only if they need to defend themselves and protect their offspring, just like other animals would?

Good morning everyone, that’s a spectacular gnarly tree @Bruce, wow!
Cloudy today, I knew I shouldn’t have spoken too soon, but at least it’s gradually warming up a bit, don’t need to use central heating so much. Dreading the gas bill!
I’ll be going to my keep fit class this morning where we all have a good laugh, struggling to keep up the rythm when the music comes on!
Apart from being a healthy activity for the body, it’s a great stress release for the mind!

Have a good Monday all.

After yesterday I think I will just hope everyone has a good day and leave it at that

As with most wild animals, you leave them alone, they will leave you alone.
Kangaroos are skittish by nature and it is very difficult to get close to them. Those living out in the wilds will most times hop away the moment they spot you.
Wild Kangaroos born in suburbia are more tolerant of humans and are not as skittish.
That does not mean I could walk up to them and pat them. No way. They would hop away.

I use Ethical Wildlife Photography as my mantra.
"Photographers must not photograph wildlife if doing so may expose it to threats, stress, physical harm, predation, or impairment of reproduction
What this means is observe wildlife in it’s natural setting going about it’s business undisturbed. Do not do anything that would startle the animal just to get a better photograph.

I will be uploading some videos I took this morning of a couple of mobs of Kangaroos living in suburbia. I was within 10 feet of them but I would never attempt to get any closer.
Both videos show a “mob” with a large male - Buck - with his Mob.
One mob was 24 in total with 12 young joeys, numerous Mothers and “teenagers”
If I attempted to approach a joey or mother, first, the mother would “have a go at me”.
The Buck - weighing up to 70kg, 150 lb and standing up to 2.1 metres - 7 feet tall, might rush me and do severe damage.
Watch from a distance and much pleasure can be enjoyed and shared.

Good morning - The weather will be more variable this coming week. Sunny at the moment in the south of England. Supermarket shopping this morning, maybe a bike ride later.

There is still a lot of sorting out of unwanted stuff needs doing before I pay someone to come and take it away, so some time will also be spent on that.

Have a good day everyone.

Good morning!
Bright, sunny, and dry

The usual pottering about this morning, then I’m going into town later as I’ve arranged to meet a couple of friends in Wetherspoons ---- and I’ve promised myself that I’ll cut down on dinnertime drinking and stick to blackcurrant & soda
Let’s see how successful I am

Eye test went well and no new glasses to fork out for, no change since last year.
Have a safe journey @Bruce hope the Pompeii exhibition is as good as you’d hoped.
Talking of ‘Gnarled Trees’ I know just the tree and will get a photo of it for tomorrows thread, if I can remember… :017:
