Good Morning - Friday 24th Sept

Good Morning/Afternoon everyone.

A bit damp around the edges here today - think it may have rained during the night. Definitely Autumnal now - the air has that rich loamy smell and the Chestnut trees are firing conkers at all who pass them. Harvested a lot of rose hips, hawthorn berries, and elderberries from the hedgerows when I was out for my walk earlier. Will be busy in the kitchen for a while!

Have a fun day.

Do you make jelly out of the Rose hips ?
Years ago an old neighbour of mine used to make elderberry wine it was so potent one glass would have you tipsy .

Good morning everyone, a chilly autumnal feel here too but still a dry sunny day forecast, surely can’t go on much longer… :sunglasses:

Into town this morning to shop for some new suit for a funeral of a WW11 vet next week. The problem is that all of the menswear shops seem to have disappeared so I guess it will be M&S then first stop…

Then why not start the thread yourself?

Have a good day folks

I have deliveries from Amazon, gardening stuff they are selling off,ba delivery of compost, etc etc.

Have a good day all.

Yes - it was very dark because it was also cloudy - but I don’t mind that - most of the villains/muggers etc., are still tucked up in bed when I go out!

Hi

Early Morning Walks are not really an issue.

The muggings happen later.

Normally after Post Office opening times, which is when the vulnerable have money on them.

They watch the elderly going in to collect Pension Money and watch the Elderly or disabled or Frail taking money out of the Cashpoint.

Be careful, be safe.

It is a sad fact of life that the Druggies pick on the most vulnerable.

Do not look vulnerable.

Go into the shop, buy something and then get cash back, up to £50, much much safer than getting money out of a Cashpoint.

Make sure there are not people looking over your shoulder when you do it.

Do not go at the same time every day, mix it up.

School Kids are your friends, they all have their Mobiles on, very dangerous for the muggers

@swimfeeders - good advice! I always wear a hi-vis over jacket if out in the dark - and have determined ‘don’t bother me’ kind of walk! I do not believe in putting myself at risk.

The only cashpoints I use are inside shops or banks - would never use the outside ones.

Haha, great sketch Fraggles…
