Good Morning Friday, 12th September 2025

Good morning everybody on a lovely, sunny Spring morning, the rain is just a distant memory, though the ground remains soggy.

I was out early for a visit to the supermarket for milk and a few odds and ends like bananas and onions, discovered Nescafe 500gm tins were on special again but now $22, the price of coffee is getting ridiculous, it is not that long ago the same tin was $16.50.

While I was out I called into my PO Box and was pleasantly surprised to discover something that I ordered only yesterday had arrived. You can read about it by clicking here:

Once the Green bin had been emptied this morning I was busy filling it up again with the remaining branches from my tree trimming. It is mostly finished but a couple of bits left.

Am having a food free day today so drinking copious amounts of coffee and tea to stop me feeling hungry.

Apart from that no idea what the rest of the day will bring other than I am sure it will involve sitting in the garden reading my book at some stage.

The weekend is only a day away for the workers among us, have a great Friday.

Take care…

Good morning everyone ,lovely bright, September morn here, as Neil Diamond sings, no more rain, for now at least.
I was really tired last night after chatting all day to my cousin with husband, who are here on holiday from England, in English! :astonished: It was such an effort for me but really enjoyed it at the same time, it was funny too, when I couldn’t think of the words and started sort of staggering…
I cooked a special traditional lunch and we all had a lovely day, she brought me some real original Scottish shortbread biscuits, delicious!

I’ll be off to my gymn class soon, have a great Friday forumers.

Morning good people…

It’s sunny but only after a lot of rain here in darkest Hampshire.

Mrs G is off to visit her cousins today, so I’m on my own and doing some odds and ends.

My first disappointment was an email yesterday telling me my scheduled photo shoot for this Sunday has been postponed until October, partly due to weather and a local logistical issue with the venue. Seriously unhappy, but there it is. Will have to find something else to do that day.

Before any of all that, time for a coffee, and as I’m on my own today, it will be my treat time and have a steak pie and mash in the local cafe to cheer myself up a bit. I may even have to order a new lens for my camera.

Have a great Friday and an amazing weekend all…

:+1: :grinning:

I don’t know what I have done but "twisted " my back somehow and making some movements painful, even sneezing.
I see Bruce has a new toy and going to drone on about it time and time again
Of course the real reason Bruce has got it, and that is to save him chasing after Kanagaroos on foot.

Hi

Good Morning All.

A chilly 10c with a brisk wind at the moment.

My months supply of Meds has been delivered, each already organised into the 4 times a day pouches, the large one is the morning one, 15 tablets and capsules at the same time and they keep changing the colours of some of them.

For some bizarre rule the Oral Morphine is delivered separately, so that will be here this afternoon.

Those are the exciting highlights of my day, the rest of which will be spent doing my leg exercises.

Have a lovely day all.

I learned today that there are more men’s sheds than there are Maccas outlets.

I can’t believe it’s almost mid day May… :017: Where has today gone… :icon_surprised:
So It’s good afternoon everyone… :069:
Just a relaxing walk this morning but cold enough for hat and gloves. 10 degrees C and a very brisk wind.
While walking down the canal towpath I was surprised to see this working barge loaded with stainless steel scrap. It was so long I wondered how it will navigate the lock in Bramwith…

I didn’t have my smartphone with me this morning just my old clamshell so the pictures are a bit iffy…
The bridge was already lifted to let it pass, I think a bloke goes on ahead because it would take some stopping.

I don’t know how you can have a food free day Bruce, I have to eat something every four hours or else I’ll go mad… Interested to hear about the drone, but to I’ll take it to the appropriate thread…
That’s why I don’t want to learn another language Rose, I might forget how to speak English, and I’m not very good at that… :flushed:
I think the older you get, the harder it is to learn new stuff, and such a waste of time. (unless you have a passion for learning) My mate learned German a few years ago and now has forgotten most of it. He could have spent more time out running…
Are these ‘Mens Sheds’ a bit like the ‘masons’ Zulu? Where you have to be invited in and participate in a secret ceremony…

Curtain twitching and sitting in a draught sometimes does that realspeed…
