Going for a heart scan next week

I sure will, God is always watching over his children, and the Holy Spirit indwells me.:-D…

Good luck pauline, it’s fascinating to watch, although my experience was when I had stents fitted and they fed a catheter into my groin and up into the heart. They injected a dye and all the arteries and veins lit up and looked like tree roots. I could clearly see the offending artery that had become blocked and diseased. It looked so much better when the stents were positioned. If it’s any relief pauline, I still get palpitations and also suffer from irregular heartbeat, but I was told it was normal…It’s still a bit worrying though…

I had an Echocardiogram about 10 days ago, Pauline, and 2 CT scans a few weeks back, too.

The Echo took less than half an hour and was quite painless - except when he pressed the darn scanner too hard!

It’ll soon be done and over with Pauline, and I’ m sure you’ll be fine.
Perhaps your palpitations are just because you are anxious.

Evening Mups…:039:

I told the specialist not to give me any procedure that I couldn’t spell…Because I would have to write a report about it on Over50’s…

Hiya Foxy. :039:

I had what you had OGF ,obviously without the stent, mine was put in my wrist, just to make sure my arteries weren’t blocked ,before I went in for surgery, the consultant told me I had veins like a man.

Sorry to hear that Mups, hope you’re ok, yeah it’ll soon be over, I ve been having scans on my heart for years, I’m a little concerned about the repair that was done, I’m sure it’s fine, as you say, probably down to being anxious.thanks for the well wishes.

Did you manage to get all that darn jelly off, that they stick on us?..:lol::lol:

Yes, it is certainly messy stuff isn’t it, and the bits of paper roll they give aren’t a lot of help are they.

I hope all goes well Pauline. The palpitations might be because you had an untreated dental infection. It’s a shame they can’t move the appointment until you are off meds and healed.

I just saw this thread Pauline…I hope it all goes well for you. Chin up missis

That happened to me on Saturday when I had my kidney ultrasound, I had to push that paper under my bra to hold it in place, that evening when I undressed, the remains fell out from my bra…:lol:

Thanks Annie…palpitations have always been there, even after surgery…but you could be right…

Thanks summer…any more pics of your lovely new house,…I’m keeping me eye on your new house thread.

Oh I see. Was it the mitral valve you had fixed?

Yes, it was my mitral valve that was repaired, I only get them occasionally now.:-D.

It was first detected ( the heart murmur) when I was a youngster,

…I tried to put the picture up the right way.

Annie do you know why the scar stays white?

Surely that bit of skin isn’t dead?

Hi

I have had every heart scan imaginable, except an MRI.

No MRI for me, too much metal in me.

Invasive Heart Scans are now a no no for me, which is a sod.

Wrists no longer have a discernible pulse, they have been in too often.

They tried the left femoral artery, but that was too damaged to then the right.

That went wrong, a very small but known risk, just bad luck.

Unusable again and severely bruised groin and haematoma.

The others are easy peasy, do not hurt and amazing to watch on screen.

I had my first Arthroscopy 19 years ago, that was an event, I was watching it live on screen.

I saw my heart flutter and then stop, Cardiac Arrest.

Alert for several seconds and then drifting into unconsciousness.

The paddles worked and I am still here.

That makes sense now re palpitations. I have the same thing but it was too mild to need repairing. Always led to raised eyebrows by clinicians with a stethoscope.

I ask for epinephrine-free dental injections if I need one as I had palpitations after having the regular lidocaine.

It’s probably because it’s not the top layer of skin which has colour in it. I have a scar on my hand from a roller skating childhood accident and it’s also white and looks just like yours. I suppose it depends on the surgeon’s skills as to how “neat” they leave you.

Mine was also mild, then with age it got worse, my consultant also told me they can go at any minute once it gets to a certain stage…are they keeping an eye on yours?

I hope so?
