Ghosts: What use are they?

This thread is probably of more interest because of Halloween being just round the corner, and the relevance is obvious, but Christmas is also associated with ghost stories, and that will be on us before we know it. Does anyone know why Christmas is a popular time for ghosts?

Might be due to the influence of Charlie Dickins, I fink he wrote a book about it?

Man’s instinct to survive is powerful, the thought of death being a nonexistence, I sometimes think before Christ man invented Gods and an afterlife, fooling our subconscious to believe in an afterlife to appease our survival instinct

I don’t believe in a God and heaven, but as I said before I sometimes feel we might be naïve dismissing an after death existence of some kind… Maybe like a dream

I envy people with strong beliefs of God and an afterlife, believing one day they will be reunited with their loved one’s.

I can understand now why you wanted to leave that lovely thatched cottage after barely a year’s residence.

Did you mention it to your neighbours? I was wondering if they had maybe known of this ‘haunted’ house from previous tenants.

Mags, I didn’t leave there because of Ghosts, the Spirit didn’t bother us at all.

he went upstairs with me following him and said there is something next to the window near the bed, I will take a photo, I stood next to him to make sure that he was not fiddling about with the Camera, which I knew he wouldn’t do that to me anyway, he took the photo, we came back downstairs, and there it was, looks like a Victorian young Lady standing there (see photo).
