Garden Ornaments

I have a bird feeding station, bird bath (bought for me by my late Mother), a stone squirrel and my latest ‘find’ a stone owl with beady eyes.

I found the owl on Friday when I was clearing an overgrown patch at the bottom of the garden - I think it ‘flew’ over from next door at some point because I had never seen it before and I have lived here for 20 years!

what a lovely place to rest your cup of tea Mart!

Spooky! I wonder whether that is what erm happened to my garden gnome…

There are a few ornaments dotted around the garden. Here are a couple of them…

That one Mart, it’s the same as the one I have except you have a figure on the top of it and mine had a bird bath (and mine is painted)

How lovely,Carol,…if you find that cockerel, plus the fairy missing in the morning,…you will know who took them!.:lol:

Sounds really nice,Margaret,

Here are some of mine. The first pic is of the ornaments that haven’t yet made it into the garden.

The animals were put on the wall originally to stop the kids sitting on it as there is quite a drop the other side, we didn’t want them falling over it at our BBQ’s.

I had one of this type of ducks, also a lovely big rooster too. But I ended up putting them to the Charity shop as they kept blowing over and sliding around the garden in the wind. I need to repaint my sheepdog but need himself to lift it up to a bench, I can’t move it, it’s over 20 years old so needs a clean up. I got my fawn coloured duck last year and he’s heavy too.

Later this week I shall have another go at clearing the overgrown area, I’ll look out for your wandering gnome Annie …

Wow!!..what a wonderful collection you have ,Tiff,…where did you get them all from?..I have never seen such a gathering,…

My cherubs …

Thanks, Pauline. Most came from garden centres many years ago, they were only a £1 or two then. More modern I also got from a garden centre.
Of the newest ones still in the house, some from car boot sales & two of the ducks bought from a wholesaler on Ebay. The little metal ones I got from Poundland & they still have them in stock there. Those were £1 each.

I think my metal ones will blow over to, specially the little ones, one of the reasons they are still in the kitchen. I think they will need either cementing in place or burying their feet in a planter, when I get around to it that is, my garden is actually rather a mess.

Beautiful cherubs,dOOd.

Yes,I was thinking garden centres as well…then you mentioned car boots,…I bet I can pick some real beauties up there,…at a fraction of the cost.:-)…plus my son said he will order some for me,from eBay.

My black swan…

I do like your swan, Mags. I saw those in Dawlish in a gift shop. Is that where he came from?

Yes Tiff, my daughter bought it for me when we were on holiday there a couple of years ago. She also bought one for herself.
