Freedom for the Unvaccinated

As from today the great unwashed… sorry, I mean the unvaccinated citizens of NSW have the same rights and restrictions as the loyal, socially responsible, friendly, sensible, kind, vaccinated people of NSW

Reduced COVID-19 restrictions will be in place in NSW from 15 December 2021 (ie Today!).

Some rules will change, including

  • density limits no longer apply
  • proof of vaccination is not required at many venues
  • QR check-in is now only needed for certain high-contact premises
  • face masks no longer need to be worn at many indoor areas.

Some venues are still refusing entry to people without two shots.

NSW COVID-19 vaccination rate Total* (ages 16 and over) Total* (ages 12-15)
All providers – first doses 94.8% 81.4%
All providers – fully vaccinated 93.2% 77.8%

Those figures are stubbornly refusing to get to 95%

Just as good a strategy as any other, under the circumstances.

well there is always in waiting the cursed reply " well no need for those crocodile tears we did warn you not to be hasty heh - now go and blow ya nose and put ya mask back on"!

As there are more vaccinated people than unvaccinated, it’s more likely the vaccinated are spreading the disease than the unvaccinated.

@Bruce … your post surprises and confuses me a little … is this a calculated gamble?
How’s Australia doing with the Omicron strain?

Sadly it a very devastating virus and the way it twists and turns seems such a long haul now…
Going to be a lot of science workings now to help combat this…
quite easy to think it can be solved with a wish…

And just a tad of common sense, maybe.

At least a decade too late for that.

Christmas ,imagine how unpopular any politician would be if they enforced restrictions then and they have the next election to think of.

There was an interesting divergence at today’s press conference between The NSW Premier (Let it Rip) and the Health Minister and Chief Medical Officer who both recommended wearing masks indoors. The Health Minister saying there could be 25000 new cases a day in NSW by January.

It was the first time a lack of unity showed in public.
