Film - the most recent you have seen?

Whats it about ! :-p
Is it as good as ‘Toy Story’

http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0120857/ bit about it here, as for good as toy story I would say so but in a very different way but neither are as good as Ice age

Thanks gal - pay ‘attention’ to Toy Story in future, one and two are best !

“Gatsby” not as good as the original, modern music spoiled it and Leonardo saying “old sport” was awkward.

I love that one - Maggie Smith is a delight.

I agree - was very disappointed with the whole thing.

Even the costumes were a bit iffy!

Saw both “Philomena” and “Le Weekend” recently and can recommend them both. Judy Dench was wonderful and deserves an award for Philomena, and Jim Broadbent and Lindsay Davis were just marvellous in Le Weekend about a 30-year married couple going back to Paris for their anniversary where they honeymooned.

I read recently that Dench is making a sequel to The Best Exotic Marigold Hotel.

Treated myself to “Gravity” dvd today, I heard some of the music from it on Breakfast, it was wonderful, so I’m watching it tonight, hope it was worth the Oscars. My daughter, said, “I thought you said it would be the worst thing that could happen, floating in space with no way of getting back! Why do you want to watch it!” I pointed out that it’s happening to someone else, so it’s okay!

I couldn’t watch that Twiz - all that floating around - vertigo ya know :-p

Oh gawd! never thought of that, better hang on to something solid!
That’s what put me off of going on “Millionaire” that seat with the floating floor beneath it! (my excuse)

Oooo didn’t know that !

Twiz - what did you make of the ‘gravity’ film …

Oh Dear! I think I will give that one a miss.

a) the story was a ‘one off’ - there is no sequel.

and

b) her character was not the most fascinating one in the story anyway.

She has some health problems, one of which could see her go blind,so perhaps she will not be part of the sequel anyway.

Its part of the modern film industry to try and cash in on a successful film, at least it would be a new film, rather than a complete remake which never seem to work for me. (Lady Killers. Total Recall, True Grit, spring to mind.

I completely agree with you about remakes, Nom - what a mess they made of remaking “The Wicker Man” and “The Day the Earth stood still” !

I have recently watched a DVD of “Amazing Grace” a biopic of William Wilberforce and the Abolition of Slavery. What a powerful film and I never knew that WW also started the first campaign against Animal Cruelty.

It was a very good film - seen it twice, Wilberforce was truly an amazing man …

Well I had a go at watching this but it seemed boring to me and a bit too far fetched. If she got her kit off at some point that might have helped but I don’t think she did  .

Might have another go at it soon but my first impression was - eh … nonsense.

Funny you should mention this as only last night I watched a trailer for the remake.
