The new Mad Max film. Not a lot of plot, really, but the camera-work and stunts are a treat. They kept the CGI to a minimum, which was a nice change.
Spare Parts
Four Hispanic high school students form a robotics club. With no experience, 800 bucks, used car parts and a dream, this rag tag team goes up against the country’s reigning robotics champion, MIT.
Great film based on a true story. Loved it. The end was even better than I hoped for.
Watch it if you get the chance.
Chappie.
In the near future, crime is patrolled by a mechanized police force. When one police droid, Chappie, is stolen and given new programming, he becomes the first robot with the ability to think and feel for himself.
Biggest pile of crud I’ve had the misfortune to waste time on. Hugh Jackman and Sigourney Weaver are in it believe it or not. Skin crawlingly bad with a plot made up by a 10 year old whilst sitting on the toilet I think. He should have flushed it when he had the chance is all I can say.
I watched Quartet again last night, BBC2, must have seen it 5 times now. I love that film & do have the DVD.
I see it advertised on catchup Tiffany. Must watch it
Me too! I love it more and more every time I see it!
Quartet then Tea with Mussolini great evening’s viewing.
I’m glad others like it. It’s good British film making.
What ever happened to Baby Jane, wow the ladies acted their socks off on that one :!:
Ladies in lavender.
I watched Cold In July a few weeks ago when it was released on Sky movies and it was very good in my opinion.
Great quality acting and a story-line that I prefer, rather than all those comedies and romantic films that seem so popular these days.
the new avengers film, not bad but the first one was better.
“Kingsman: The Secret Service,” and for those who haven’t had the pleasure; it’s deliciously funny! Colin Firth leads playing - with tongue-in-cheek brilliance - a Spy in opposition to the dastardly Samuel L Jackson who is hell bent on world domination, and although loaded with the usual spy fiction cliche, it is a brilliant satire.
Watched The Penguins of Madagascar DVD last night, it was hilarious. I love cartoons.
My house in Umbria
I watched “Ex Machina” last night; stunning and quite a twist on the Turing Test. I thoroughly recommend a viewing!
Watched 'The Boy in Striped Pyjamas ’ last night , really wish I hadn’t
I know! The book was worse.
The last movies I have seen were Tommorrowland and also San Andreas…both were pretty good but Tommorrowland did start off very slow for the first half hour or so…
I would love to go and see Terminator Genisys I think its out in July sometime.
The last dvds I watched were Ex Machina a brilliant sci fi future movie with synthetic humans in it…scary storyline .
i just watched ‘focus’ it was not bad at all, at least it kept me entertained. will smith is always good value.
