LOL, Hammer, that sounds like what kids here in school call “mystery meat” in the lunchroom …

Must admit that I don’t like my curries red hot but I do like a nice Chicken Tikka masala or Korma even a Dansak meal goes down well. I often visit our local American/Italian restaurant and do enjoy a variety of meals there, quite an extensive menu. Although I have tried Chinese food in the past, it has never really appealed to me but I suppose it’s all down to personal choice. Bon Appetite!:-p
And bon appetit to you to, Bob.b! Now nice that there are so many cuisines available that we all can find something we enjoy. I had Chinese dim sum … pork potstickers … tonight, with two kinds of dipping sauces yum!
That sounds wonderful!! Luv potstickers…
For me…Italian, Greek, Chinese, Indian food is difficult to find here in my area of Florida but I’ll make some once in awhile.
Blueskies, do you have a Giant or Safeway near you that offers delivery? Both of them carry potstickers! That’s where I get mine.
Good British battered fish with chips takes some beating.
I only eat good home made British food, never buy foreign rubbish. I spent a bad two weeks in Switzerland once due to bad foreign food so I stick to what I know.
I like Italian, love Pasta.
You’re really missing some great tastes AB, and although I enjoy British food, I’ve been known to pick up a gippy tummy from a good old British meat pie;, it’s not what’s in it, it’s how it’s been prepared that dictates the quality and wholesomeness.
After all, six billion people can’t all be wrong, can they?..
(In no particular order)
Chinese (we have the world’s best takeaway)
Italian
Anything with pasta
Good old Haddock and Chips
I am not missing the tastes Barry, I have some wonderful tastes with British food.
Pork slices done in Mushroom sauce with new potatoes and fresh garden peas followed by a large Brandy, what could be better?
I havent had good fish and chips since I left Blackpool, except when I went to The Pheasant in the lakes and that wasnt a chip shop.
You don’t miss what you’ve never had. I enjoy different cuisines, but I assume I’m missing something by an adamant refusal to eat either brains or offal. But then I think people who don’t care for certain things I like are missing a good experience also …
As long as we enjoy our food, that;t the important thing…
The Pheasant Inn, Bassenthwaite, a wonderful place and very good meals with first class service. I frequently go there for a meal but not for Fish and Chips, the Gammon menu is wonderful though.
The Fish and chips are out of this world AB.
Fish and chips from the" Kingfisher" chippy in the main street at Keswick recently were some of the best I have had in a long time. They do know how to make good fish and chips in that neck of the woods.
Where’s your sense of adventure??? - have travelled extensively across Europe and Asia and yes, have had occasions when I’ve suffered Ghandi’s revenge, but that hasn’t put me off eating the ‘local’ foods. Have had bear steaks and sturgeon in Siberia, eaten Hungarian Ghoulash in Budapest, German Bierwurst in Munich to name but a few. My local butcher obtains ‘safari’ meat for me, so have eaten Kangaroo, Ostrich, Buffalo, Water Buffalo, Eland, Kudu, Camel, Wildebeeste, and Zebra - all without incident and thoroughly enjoyable!!!
I did not say that I have not tried it Joe, I just dont like it and prefer Good British food. Where else in the world can you go out and buy ‘Good’ Fish and chips, Gammon, Roast Pork, Steak puddings or Bacon and eggs?
The food I have tasted abroad has always been under cooked or burnt to a crisp or soggy and who in their right mind wants to eat Cockeroaches and Lizards?
I enjoy a nice curry but agree that it doesn’t have to be to hot, I make mine from scratch and you can taste all the spices but it’s tasty not burn your mouth off…I also cook some Czech recipies that I remember from childhood but I have no idea what they are called - they are however very tasty.
These all sound delicious but I am an old stick-in-the-mud and will only ever have Special Fried Rice from our Chinese takeaway and then I pick out all the pork bits and leave half of it!
