Thanks again folks. D-Day tomorrow (Dentist Day). I’m getting myself psyched up, and I don’t feel as edgy as I did last time.

That’s thanks to all the positive support you’ve given me.

Yes I hope it goes well for you tomorrow, Mollie … just look on it as the start of the new you!;-)

I know you’re right Mags. Onwards and upwards from tomorrow.

Hope all goes well for you tomorrow Mollie. Good to know you’re not feeling as edgy about it this time-sure you’ll be fine.

Honestly Mollie you will feel so much more confident about yourself when its all done. :-p Its only the first appointment that will be the worst one. They will be easier after that

Many thanks lass.

I hope you’re right, Lynne. Cheers.

What time is your appointment Mollie?

High noon!

You will be okay Mollie, it’s just a matter of getting yourself through the door the first time, after that you will wonder what all the fuss was about.

Thanks Jimmy. It’s like I’ve said all along, I’m not afraid of the dentist. I’ve been quite happy to go along every six months. I’m afraid of the outcome, and perhaps the pain, although my doctor gave me pain relief after I explained what I needed it for.

I’m having trouble eating now so, when I have my top back teeth out tomorrow (four of them) I don’t know how I’ll go on and it’s too hot for soup!

Had a back tooth extracted yesterday. Went okay. Feels somewhat uncomfortable now with some swelling. But that is to be expected. Have to go back in seven days to, perhaps, have the stitches removed and further clean-up, gum treatment. Strangely enough, while I was sitting in the chair I was thinking how lucky I was not to be having a hip removed and replaced. Good luck Mollie.

Many thanks for that very sobering thought, GY. I shall be thinking about worse things tomorrow whilst I’m at the dentist.

Are you taking the morning off Mollie or going there straight from work? You will be just fine, dentists nowadays are very gentle. Don’t forget to let us know how it went and good luck

I’m hoping you’ll be on the way to your dentist now, Mollie … we’re thinking of you!

Mag, as you typed your last post I was on my way.

Mary, I only work in the afternoons anyway and, for each procedure, I’ll be booking the whole day off.

My next appointment is on 18 June. :-p

Oh right Mollie, I see… so, how did it go? You got back nice and quick, maybe take in some of this sun while it lasts?

How did it go? Well, not as bad as I expected, but I had a few moments of tears and shaking like a leaf in between extractions, but he was really very good and patient with me.

He numbed both sides of the top of my gums as he was going to take three from the right and two from the left at the back, but after the first three I felt a bit too distressed to have the others removed today.

I’m waiting now for the sun to come over to the front of the house as I can’t sit out the back unfortunately, as my “garden” would rival an African rain forest.

Mollie that is good news  It’s a brave person indeed who says they are not afarid of the dentist.
I do hope this morning has gone a little way to allaying your fears .

Enjoy the sun

Thanks Meg and Mags. I’ve never been afraid of going to the dentist, but I was afraid of the extractions and any pain. :frowning:

I’m okay though - so far.
