The tabloid news company American Media Inc. agreed to let a former Playboy model out of a contract that had kept her from talking freely about an alleged affair with Donald J. Trump.
The settlement agreement, reached on Wednesday, ends a lawsuit brought by the model, Karen McDougal, and protects the president from being drawn into a legal case involving efforts to buy the silence of women who had stories to tell about him during the 2016 campaign.
He still faces another lawsuit from Stephanie Clifford, the pornographic film actress known as Stormy Daniels. Ms. Clifford is suing to get out of a deal that Mr. Trumpās personal lawyer, Michael D. Cohen, arranged in 2016 for her silence about an alleged affair. Mr. Trumpās representatives have denied both womenās stories.
I shall be making no further comments to your posts other than to say
I suggest you listen to yourself and take your own advice
Try working on a building site Ripple. That should un-nerve your virtues
I think Stormy Daniels is still paying off the last law suit she lost against Trump over this isnāt she ? The one where Michael Cohen (Trumps lawyer) got sent to jail for lying ?
In the news , perhaps this is true. I wouldnāt know cause I never watch the news but I figure he must be doing something worthy or he wouldnāt have so many supporters.
My husband follows the news and has admitted that trump did a lot for America . He did in fact create a lot of jobs and by the list of accomplishments, clearly a lot of things Iāve missed.
Maybe Iām being unfair but I canāt get past his aggressive and crude personality. After having Obama, who was most respectful and his wife Michele, listening to Trump is ā¦. everything but.
I personally still think heās responsible for what happened . He tells people the things heās going to do and follows through; including the things that are illegal. Why wouldnāt we believe him?
Who are you going to believe a fake blonde with big tits or Stormy Daniels?
Stealing that ā¦ā¦ā¦
This gets odder.

The legal process that lies ahead could last months - and will certainly see Mr Trumpās lawyers fighting to get the case dropped.
Prosecutors must hand over evidence
With Mr Trumpās arraignment complete, prosecutors must now turn over evidence they have gathered during their probe to Mr Trumpās legal team, a standard process known as discovery.
This is generally completed within 35 days of arraignment, but the Bragg team has been given 65 days - or until 8 June - to produce the āvast majorityā of its materials.
Evidence will include law enforcement interviews with, and witness testimony from, key figures like Ms Daniels and Mr Trumpās former lawyer Michael Cohen, as well as prosecutorsā internal communications.
It will also include minutes from, and exhibits shown to, the grand jury convened earlier this year by Mr Bragg to take a closer look at the allegations.
Trumpās lawyers will try to get case dismissed
Lawyers for Mr Trump have vowed to challenge the charges against him within days, arguing that the case is āripe for motionsā.
Motions are requests for the court to make a decision on a matter relating to a case before a trial begins. If a party makes a motion to dismiss, it is asking the court to dismiss all or part of a case.
New York typically allows 45 days after arraignment to make motions, but Judge Merchan has allowed the Trump team just over four months - or until 8 August - for the defence to complete all of their motions, and set prosecutors a deadline of 19 September to prepare their response.
Trumpās next day in court
After each sideās motions have played out, we will know for certain if the People of New York v Donald Trump will go to trial.
Defendants in New York have the āright to a speedy trialā within six months or so of an indictment, and prosecutors told the court on Tuesday they would like to go to trial in January of 2024.
Mr Trumpās lawyers said a trial date in the spring would be āmore realisticā.
The court will deliver its ruling on motions on 4 December, and this is when Mr Trump is expected to be back in court.
That means, if the case does eventually go to trial, it will probably start after Americans begin voting in primary elections to select their nominees for president in 2024.
In the meantime, Mr Trump could face criminal charges in at least two other cases, including a sprawling special counsel probe into his efforts to overturn the 2020 election, and his handling of classified information after leaving office.
But no laws exist to prevent an indicted American from running for president, and the Republican is ploughing ahead with his third consecutive campaign for the White House.
So, we might have to wait a year before any courtroom drama ā¦
Trump calls on Republicans to defund the FBI and DOJ.
Trump appointed the head of the FBI and increased spending to the DOJ when he was in office.

Not at all, itās what he is called in the USA - a term widely used for him.
itās because he is called Alvin and he is also fat.
The police and justice system have become the same organisation, heavily politicised by the hard left. I wouldnāt stop there if I were him.
I canāt believe the amount of people who are taken in by Trump ā¦
How many of the Trump supporters and defenders really know the man?
I bet all they know about him comes from some form of right-wing media - or from the mouth of Trump himself or his deluded supporters and he is telling his supporters what he knows they want to hear.
How many of the Trump supporters on this forum have ever worked for Trump or seen how he really operates at close quarters?
I bet not many have - yet some of them just assume everyone who despises Trump must be getting all their info from other media outlets and are equally ignorant of his true character.
Even if one knew nothing about Trump but what he said himself, in the full videos of his speeches at rallies and other public venues, those speeches would be enough to inform many people that their values and priorities were very different to Trumpās.
The character that comes across in those speeches is very much the character that someone who once worked for Trump has described to me - he is astute and cunning enough to work out what charms and motivates the people he wants to manipulate to his advantage - he is also a bully, a liar and a narcissist, who loses his temper, has tantrums and gets extremely nasty if he doesnāt get all his own way - and if you annoy him or challenge him or cross him, he will exact his revenge, by hook or by crook.
People who admire someone like that must be like that too.
Exactly the same could be said about people who dislike Trumpā¦In fact, your post was virtually the same as my earlier post but from a different perspectiveā¦
I could also argue that the person who worked for Trump, and went on to criticise him was probably sacked by him. I must admit that Trump is sometimes painful to listen to, but his worth to America is in his deeds. He is a patriotā¦
You could argue that - but you do not know her or the circumstances of her employment and resignation - I do!
Presumably keeping her own counsel ā¦
Presumably doing something else.
What is it exactly that you hate so much about Donald Trump ?
I bet you canāt give a straight answer.
