Donald Trump accused of falsifying records to conceal crimes regarding Stormy Daniels hush money

Hi

We here in the UK can hardly complain and claim the high ground., we have have loads of many men in high positions playing away when married.

It is not for me however, in a relationship, I am a one woman man, that is just me.

Claiming paying the lady involved as a Tax Deductible Expense is just so, so, wrong.

Find a nice lady, get in a relationship with her and that is that.

You do not cheat.

I am really shocked by the violence integral to the the way Trump has behaved, inciting riot and civil disobedience, and that itā€™s allowed

Posting pictures of the judgeā€™s daughter is surely wrong?

If he wants to reveal her political allegiance to the Biden/Harris campaign and that she worked for Kamala, then fine, do it in writing. Why do we need to see her face? I think itā€™s intimidation

Donā€™t post pictures of her that might provoke violence and aggressive reactions from his ā€œfansā€ in real life

The judgeā€™s daughters politics, or indeed the judges, donā€™t mean the judge will be biased. Thatā€™s a serious accusation heā€™s making there with no evidence

The decision of the court will surely be evidence based?

And then there was this picture he tweeted of himself with a baseball bat with a picture of Alvin Bragg, the Manhattan district attorney

Surely this is also incitement to violence and intimidation?

I think Trump is a bully who thinks heā€™s above the law

Before feeling misjudged sympathy for Trump the racist sexist, homophobe, xenophobe and religious bigotā€¦remember those innocent Mexican lost children who for no fault of their own are now separated unlikely ever to be reunited with their familiesā€¦
Grrr I would like Trump to be considered guilty until proven, innocent.
Yes into the slammer and throw away the key.

During the pandemic, you just need to compare the outcomes of the republican held states with the democrat held states and you can see which ones had the best outcomes.

He doesnā€™t molest kids and shower with his daughter though like creepy Joe.

As for a sexist, homophobe, xenophobe and religious bigot, he did more to get Hispanics, women, gays etc into work than Obama did. Certainly got more of their vote too.

And look at you wanting Trump to be guilty before being proved innocentā€¦ your everything bigot that you accuse him of.

Nice picture of Fat Alvin.

Where did I say he molested children?
As for your remaining comment I suggest you go onlineā€¦ and read up on Trumps racist ,sexist, homophobe, xenophobe and religious bigot activities.

Some Trump supporters are so blinkered ā€¦Trump could commit murder and maintain his support

Trump was heard to say ā€œI like to grab them by the p*ssyā€ recorded by hidden microphones that were bugging his trailer. At the time, he was drinking with his friends in a RV at the back of a sports stadium.

Iā€™ve heard much worse to be honest and if thats what youā€™re basing all your fake outrage over I suggest you get out more.

I canā€™t believe the amount of people who taken in by the Main Stream Mediaā€¦ :astonished:
Everything anyone on here knows about Trump comes from the mediaā€¦Except perhaps butterscotch who lives there. But even he probably lives in a democrat controlled state, and if its anything like living here in a labour run constituency, everything that goes wrong is down to the tory government.

Eric Trump tweeted this yesterday.

Alvin Bragg has shut down the entire city, called up 38,000 NYPD police officers, closed down the FDR Drive and is spending an estimated $200 million of city funds, all for a $130,000 NDA. I never thought I would see this level of corruption in the United States.

Heā€™s absolutely spot on. There is also no crime here, just 34 copy and pasted expense anomalies cobbled together by Fat Alvin who is desperately trying to frame a former US President with. Anyone in the USA who cares about democracy and the future of their country is now a Trump supporter whether they like him or not.

Trumps campaign is getting millions more in donations because of this, he has a 83% approval rating from the republicans and 57% vs 32% over DeSantis.

DeSantis is toast now, there is only Donald Trump in the running for the Republicans and the Democrats have no plan, no idea and no candidate.

Priceless !

It makes perfect sense to some, that a bloke is going to put his political career on the line for $130,000 when he probably carries that much around in loose changeā€¦The lengths that the establishment will go, to prevent a great man from taking his rightful place as the next POTUS.
And isnā€™t it time all this: racist, sexist, homophobic, xenophobic, religious garbage was was kicked into the long grass. (I hope youā€™ve spelt it right Ripple, cos Iā€™ve just copied you)
After all, its only being used to create a diversion and shut down any kind of debateā€¦

PS: I just wonder what else is going on in the world while we are being misdirectedā€¦Finland joining NATO perhapsā€¦

Trump haters will always be trump haters.

Donald Trump went on a wild, fact-free tirade against his political foes on Tuesday in an expected response to the long-awaited criminal indictment that finally was released by prosecutors in Manhattan earlier in the day.

It was chock full of the falsehoods that Mr Trump has long enjoyed weaponising against his enemies, with no regard for the truth.

Letā€™s take a look at some of the big ones:

The Justice Department isnā€™t investigating Joe Biden over handling of presidential records

Angrily assaulting the National Archives and Justice Department over the criminal investigation into his handling of presidential records and classified materials, the former president raged that investigators were only looking into his actions when troves of presidential records had been discovered similarly at the homes of President Joe Biden and former Vice President Mike Pence.

That, of course, is not true. The Justice Department has been in contact and a working relationship with the Biden legal team ever since the first discovery of records at a think tank connected to Mr Biden, and is simply handling that investigation through a separate special counsel.

The National Archives is a far-left organisation

This one almost deserves to be ignored from the get-go. As part of his criticism of efforts to investigate his handling of presidential records, Mr Trump made the confusing assertion that the US National Archives is a ā€œradical left troublemaking organizationā€.

The idea that a stuffy library in Washington DC is actually a hotbed of antifa radicals may be entertaining, but is sadly not based in fact. The National Archives merely had the bad luck of picking a fight with Mr Trumpā€™s legal team after he, by his own account, apparently allowed or directly ordered his aides to scoop up documents from the White House for transport to Mar-a-Lago as he was all but dragged out of office in January 2021.

Federal law enforcement colluded with social media companies to stop Trump in 2020

One of the Trump circleā€™s favourite refrains in recent months has been the assertion that he would have won the 2020 election were it not for social media companies suppressing the reach of a story that broke in late 2020 about a laptop owned by Hunter Biden being obtained by far-right activists. At the time, federal officials apparently warned executives at companies like Twitter and Facebook that the story had the hallmarks of a Russian disinformation effort, which ended up not being the case.

Republicans have argued that the contents of Hunter Bidenā€™s laptop suggest criminal activity by the younger Biden and improper financial connections between the president and foreign countries through his sonā€™s business; these claims are not substantiated by any hard proof, however, and were unlikely to sway large amounts of undecided voters in the final days of the election.

Still, the idea that there was any ā€œcollusionā€ between the federal government and social media companies was false: thereā€™s no evidence that any federal agency sought to suppress the story for the purpose of hurting Mr Trumpā€™s campaign efforts, nor is there proof of any social media companies being coerced or even specifically asked to suppress the story.

The FBI raid of Mar-a-Lago was unconstitutional

Another false statement made in the course of attacking federal law enforcement for attempting to secure presidential records that were in his possession, Mr Trump argued on Tuesday that the FBI raid of his Mar-a-Lago residence and resort was illegal.

On the contrary: a federal judge signed off on the search warrant for his home, and his own attorneys have not actually bothered to argue that the raid was improper in court. Thereā€™s also the issue of his attorneys telling the federal government before the raid that all classified materials had been handed over.

ā€˜Virtually everyoneā€™ thinks this case is bunk

As he trashed Alvin Braggā€™s efforts to prosecute him for allegedly falsifying business records as part of his efforts to buy the silence of porn actress Stormy Daniels, Mr Trump incorrectly asserted that even anti-Trump Republicans and Democrats were taking his side.

Thatā€™s not the case. Many legal experts like former House Judiciary Committee co-counsel Norm Eisen have weighed in on the strength of the case, and disagree with the hand-wringing of a few conservative legal experts over the case. The issue of the caseā€™s legal strength is far from settled, one way or the other.

Lies, damn lies and BS emanating, as usual, from Trumpā€™s facial orifice ā€¦ :man_shrugging:

There is no crime here Omah.

You might want to start with facts

All 34 charges relate to hush-money payment

The charges all relate to a $130,000 hush-money payment by lawyer Michael Cohen to adult film star Stormy Daniels just before 2016 election in order to prevent her from talking about her allegations that she had an affair with Mr Trump in 2007.

Trumpā€™s alleged cover-up happened when he was president

In 2017, after becoming president, Mr Trump met with Cohen in the White House. Shortly thereafter - and over the course of 10 months - Mr Trump began sending cheques from a trust handling his assets, and later from his own bank account, to Cohen.

From a misdemeanour to a felony

Mr Bragg alleges that Mr Trump falsified the true nature of the payments because those payments were made in support of a crime. While hush-money payments are not by themselves illegal, spending money to help a presidential campaign but not disclosing it violates federal campaign finance law.

Michael Cohen was convicted of just such a violation for not disclosing his payment to Ms Daniels. By reimbursing Cohen for that payment, Mr Bragg asserts, Mr Trump is tied to that criminal act - and it makes his falsification of business record a more serious offence.

ā€˜A pattern of criminal behaviourā€™

Mr Bragg cites two other examples of hush-money payments by Mr Trumpā€™s campaign. These payments, he says, support the prosecution case that Mr Trump knew his payments to Cohen were part of an illegal attempt to influence the 2016 presidential election.

These payments came from the tabloid National Enquirer magazine and its then-publisher, David Pecker, who Mr Bragg says co-ordinated with Mr Trump to suppress potentially damaging information from seeing the light of day. As a reward, the indictment notes, Mr Pecker received an invitation to Mr Trumpā€™s inauguration.

Simply put ā€¦ :+1:

Oh, the sweet scent of desperation in the air. Donald Trump Junior, paragon of moral fortitude, decided to take justice into his own hands on Truth Social by posting a photo of the daughter of the judge presiding over his fatherā€™s porn star hush money trial.

As Junior learned from Daddy, the best way to win a case is through intimidation and badgering the family members of those in charge.

Clearly, the apple doesnā€™t fall far from the tree.

Posting a picture of the the judges daughter, who worked for Kamala Harris is already in the public domain. Nothing intimidating or badgering here.

Nothing desperate either, Fat Alvin is already being advised to drop the whole thing by his own democrats. He has no case and he looks a fat fool

The case against Donald Trump is focused on a payment made to porn star Stormy Daniels. However, the prosecutor also mentioned another woman.

According to background documents, a payment was made on Mr Trumpā€™s behalf to ā€œWoman 1ā€ - who evidence suggests is Karen McDougal. Ms McDougal is an ex-Playboy model and, like Ms Daniels, claimed she had an affair with Mr Trump. Ms McDougal claims that she and Mr Trump had a 10-month relationship, and they saw each other ā€œa minimum five times a monthā€. Mr Trump has denied it ever happened.

In 2016, in the run-up to the presidential election, Ms McDougal signed a deal worth $150,000 (Ā£106,000) to tell her story exclusively to the tabloid newspaper, the National Enquirer. The agreement banned her from talking publicly about the alleged affair. However, the article was never published and Ms McDougal insists she was tricked into silence about the relationship.

Purchasing a story deliberately to then bury it is known as ā€œcatch and killā€ - and the National Enquirer reportedly did this to suppress negative stories about Mr Trump.

In 2021, the US Federal Election Commission, which is in charge of enforcing campaign finance law, found that the Enquirerā€™s publisher violated election laws by paying for the rights to Ms McDougalā€™s story and never publishing it. It found that the money, which was paid to Ms McDougal during the 2016 presidential election, amounted to an illegal campaign contribution. The (Trump-supporting) National Enquirer was fined $187,500 (Ā£132,000).

The details concerning Ms McDougal are contained in the district attorneyā€™s statement of facts, which is given as background information to the case.

Whether much will be made of this is unknown.

Interview with Karen McDougal 5 years ago when it was revealed about the catch and kill stories that the National Enquirer bought on Trumpā€™s behalf.

I watched it at the time it aired. I donā€™t remember what happened after she violated the NDA with this interview.
