Thanks for that. I’ll try to have a wander around when it’s not so hot. I want to do the one in Glasto as well.
Speaking of painted rocks, there is a whole row of them by the old bus shelter above Birnbeck Pier. The view from there and the little park above is quite spectaclier, as is the view from the top of the Sovereign Centre car park.
By the way, I am slightly miffed that you didn’t wave as you went by our house. That was you in the red bathing suit on the top deck of the X1 wasn’t it? (We live a couple of villages back from Wesson).
We live only 8 miles from the coast so a lot of our time is spent at the seaside. I was born right on the coast and could see the sea from my bedroom window. My memories are of scorching hot summer days, swimming for hours, swimming out to meet the tide and swimming back with it, mud slides, gathering cockles and samphire, wild and wet stormy nights, howling winds and I loved it all!
I grew up in London and it was a long way but dad used to take us on day trips on the train, to Southend, Canvey Island, Margate and I thought I was in heaven!
Although I’d rather be back home in London I’m still delighted to be living so close to the sea
I miss the Weston Super Mare cricket festival.
Went across there once on the Balmoral,
Had a whopping great 45 minutes ashore.
Just enough time for a cider and take away Fish and chips.
Can’t find one of the Balmoral at Weston.
This is at Ilfracombe…had great fish and chips there too!
Yes, it does. You have to go through The Tunnels to get to it and they’re privately owned
It was a Victorian bathing spot with Ladies and Gentlemens beaches and there’s a lovely tidal pool
