Dali's Car - You can't dance to that noise!

Very tempting

Found this in a corner of the web. Quite interesting.

Wah! - The Seven Thousand Names of Wah!

Durutti Column. Loved the first album, apart from the sandpaper sleeve.

WE have very similar musical tastes gracalus, one of my favourite music providers was Lotus Records in Stoke on Trent. He used to provide monthly catalogues with cassettes of great Prog, Experimental, Electronic and Avant Guarde music.

I think we do. It’s about being open to trying things away from what is current or trending. Sometimes you hit lucky, but if you don’t explore you’ll never know. Some of it might be dross, but on the other hand some of it might be good and that will then lead to other avenues. I’ve never tired of looking for new things, it keeps it fresh and also gives a great back catalogue of sounds to return to. I grew up in the Lakes and there wasn’t much around in the way of record shops. There used to be a small one in Kendal (long since gone) but it was rare that I could afford anything. A friend at school got hold of Mirror Man and Strictly Personal from his elder brother and lent them to me. I’d been given Hot Rats as a present by some (evil) people and basically there was no looking back after that. I’d get most of my knowledge from Sounds and NME or the odd copy of IT when I could find one. The place I did get most of my records from at the time, by mail order, was Cobb Records in Wales. Used to pour over their lists and better still, for a skint school kid, they sold second hand records which were always in excellent condition.

Now some entertainment, suitable for all families.

One of my favourite bands in 1970.

When it comes to great albums of the sixties this is often neglected.

Jefferson Airplane, bless their pointed little heads.

Hot Tuna get funky.

and blue

Hawkwind, Synchronised Blue. Live from Preston 2016. The band are a lot more like they should be these days. Track from the last album. Audience video. They would have been better mixing the bass down on the audio before it was put on YooToob.

Hawkwind, Dawn. An outtake from Warrior, 1975. This turned up on the revamped Cherry Red release from 2013.

Hawkwind, Opa Loka

which became Uncle Sam’s on Mars
