Glad your son is ok, Margaret
What happened to you summer?..
Just a aching arm on the 2nd day Pauline.
Hope yours went well.
My name was put on my card as soon as I received it. I suppose by carrying it with you is proof you have had both vaccinations, should anyone have doubts. I keep mine in my purse.
I feel fine at the moment ,just finished the prepping on my deck, glad you daughter is ok,
Yeah, I will keep mine in my purse, I didnāt have to wait 15 mins after this injection either, glad itās over though.
I have had both vaccinations but have no record of the jabs. I will need to make some enquiries.
Thank you Pauline, he is fine now. My daughter in law is trying to get a jab now, she is 42, but at the moment the nearest place is almost 50 miles away! Both my husband and I had ours at our surgery but it seems that maybe younger folk have to travel further afield for their jab.
Yes, I think you should, Scot.
I thought everybody had a card with which vaccine you had written on it.
I had my second jab at 9 50 am yesterday, come nine oāclock at night, I could hardly stand up,my nose was running,i ached all over, I couldnāt even cook my sons supper, straight to bed, started to feel better around 14 00 pm todayā¦thank goodness.
Let us know how you get on with your enquires ,Scott.
Same here Scot, none of us have a record of the jabā¦my son lives in England and he has a card with the vaccine and date ā¦
NHS Scotland seem to do things differentlyā¦itāll be on your record though, if anyone needs to check.
Yes I think thatās probably it Pixie
Had my 2nd jab on Tuesday and my arm is right sore but other than that john and I had no ill effects with both our 1st and 2nd jabs thankfully. When she jabbed me I yelled out OWWWWWW and gave her the death stare. I bet she thought oh away with ya you morngy bugger lol
I accidentally put this elsewhere.
There was an interesting interview on the wireless this morning with a professor something about the AZ vaccine and blood clotting.
In the over 50s the rate of clotting is 4 to 6 per million injections.
In the under 50s it is 10 per million.
Symptoms appear after 5 days and up to 20 days usually in the form of a headache which persists. It starts after all the usual vaccine symptoms have ceased (sore arm, flu like feeling, tiredness etc). The condition can be effectively treated.
The under 40s here will have pfizer or moderna Bruce.
They will be offered Pfizer or Moderna if they want.
Same here but for the under 50s, AZ is only for the over 50s and we donāt have Moderna as yet, as far as I know it has not been approved for use in Australia.
This morning it was announced that Australia has just signed a deal with Moderna for 10 million doses this year and 15 million in 2022.
This is all subject to the vaccine being approved by the TGA.
There are also negotiations going on for Moderna to set up production of mRNA vaccines in Australia as well as funding for CSL to produce mRNA type vaccines.
Iām not aware thereās a choice in England. The decision made was to not vaccinate the under 40s with AZ because of the cost/benefit studies.
Well this is the first week I am feeling a lot better and back to normal after my jab. My gp said that the muscle pains can last for six weeks in some. Iām sure taking a magnesium supplement has helped. But I am now able to do normal things again, gardening and walking up and down the stairs without limping due to stiffness. Which is pretty good now that itās nearly summer and friends have lots of plans to meet up. Only a couple of weeks ago I thought Iād have to pull out I was still feeling so rough.
The GP has persuaded me to have the second dose. She also had strong side effects with the first dose but said that people who have this tend to have an easy time with dose 2 of AZ. Pfizer the opposite is true with dose 2 causing more side effects than dose 1.
Mups and Summer - hope you are getting a little better too.
