I agree with your thoughts, Foxy.
Not for me, thanks very much.
I canāt take another bashing like that.
Not when the side effects are worse than the disease scot, Mupsy could have died if someone had not looked in on her.
Thatās what frightened me too, Foxy.
When it kept threatening even more, it made me feel very nervous and vulnerable on my own.
My hearing still hasnāt returned to how it was either, which is still being investigated.
Itās bad that some have had adverse reactions to the vaccines but to say that the side effects are worse than the disease is hard to believe OGF. The last time I looked over 127,000 had died from the virus in the UK.
what is significant Scott is that people have reactions to some vaccines more than others. So for example Pfizer doesnāt have all this kerfuffle reported. Because most people seem to tolerate it without problems. Itās the adeno vaccines that are the problem it seems.
I feel sorry for the 127,000 Scot, and whereas I do care, they are not my concern. Mups, Summer, Meg and Annie are my concern because they are friends of mine and I wouldnāt like to see anything happen to them, and who knows, the reaction they have experienced could be a lot worse than actually catching Covid, and that is assuming that they will ever catch it. Remember that 63 million people have still not caught itā¦
I agree Annie, and wonder what the true figure representing reactions is, especially if they think itās normalā¦
Iām sorry but I have to point out that your statement there is incorrect.
(That alone really doesnāt make much difference so if you wish you can skip to the last paragraph for the relevant bit at this stage if you want to. )
Of the number tested, approaching 4.5 million have caught Covid which when subtracted from the population figers gives you the answer of 63 million (we wonāt quibble about the odd few).
But not everybody has been tested so you canāt say how many have actually had the virus.
Even if you did give everybody a blood test to see if antibodies are present you wouldnāt get an accurate answer, because these antibodies decrease over time after infection which is how re-infection occurs.
According to our own ONS (as reported here on Sky News back in early February) they reckon that 6.9 million had been infected in England alone up until then.
Now I agree that it still leaves one heck of a lot of people that havenāt been infected.
But as the death figures suggest, with such a huge number who apparently havenāt been infected compared to the number of deaths from the far smaller number that has itās making it quite obvious that the number of fatalities could increase dramatically.
That is ācouldā, not āwillā of course.
And that risk is why vaccination remains the sensible option for so many people.
Indeed ā¦ and they were all someoneās mother, father, sister, brother, son, daughter, etc. ā¦ my own brother-in-lawās death from COVID-19 directly affected over 30 family members, none of whom at that time (March 2020) were allowed to see him in hospital or attend his cremation ā¦
127,000 is THREE TIMES the number of UK civilians killed by the Luftwaffe in WWII ā¦
As well as the death toll, there are well over 100,000 ālong covidā sufferers who will require NHS treatment for the foreseeable future ā¦
Earlier this evening I went out to the club for dinner with my daughter, son in law and his parents. During our discussion it turned out that I was the only one to have received a Covid Vaccination.
While I understood that the 30 somethings had not received a vaccination it had not occurred to me that the 60 something parentals had not received a jab either - they are not in the 1b group of over 70s, Aboriginal or having health problems. Such is the state of the Australian farcial rollout.
I donāt know if itās age or what but it never used to happen. When individual cases of deaths are highlighted on TV and I see/hear the families and friends grieving, I can start to well up a bit, even though I donāt know these people at all.
I said exactly the same a while back, Foxy.
The statistics are only from those who bothered to report anything. Which leads me to wonder about all the missing statistics from people who have said nothing?
As I also said before, the doctor told me he thought it was a very severe reaction to the Astra-Zeneca.
To my knowledge he didnāt report it, and neither did he suggest I should report it either - but I darn well did.
I used the Yellow Card Scheme, which is exactly what itās there for!
How many people have never been told about yellow card, and donāt even know it exists?
So how many more thousands may have suffered who are not known about, I wonder?
If no one says anything, the statistics canāt possibly be correct.
I am still shocked that you had such an awful time, Mups and again, I can only hope you get fully better as soon as possible.
What is the Yellow Card scheme? Oh waitā¦I just looked it up. Well the fact it exists at all, is concerning, and I for one, think it should be publicised as heavily as going for a vaccine is. But maybe they donāt want thatā¦?
Makes you wonder doesnāt it . . .
All this is irrelevant Omah, you are trying to play the emotional cardā¦
Iāve said many times that Iām sorry for those who have lost their lives to Covid. But why werenāt you as concerned about the many thousands of mainly old people who lose their lives annually to other winter illnesses. You are quick to draw a comparison with wartime casualties which has no bearing on winter illnesses whatsoever.
Itās a poor attempt to draw inappropriate comparisons, and disrespectful of the brave men and women who lost their lives so you could write this drivel.
That is exactly why they show you the grieving relatives and recount some background into the personās life mart, so you believe the person who lost their life was your friend. In my opinion this is a case where they should shoot the messenger!
Was anybody (least of all you) ā¦ :?:
You are quick to draw a comparison with wartime casualties which has no bearing on winter illnesses whatsoever.
AFAIK, COVID-19 has not yet been classified as a āwinter illnessā ā¦
Not, itās not ā¦
However, since youāre so sensitive (?) Iāll put the comparison amongst the living - 127,000 is (roughly) the size of the population of Gloucester ā¦ :!:
Isnāt that the number of illegal immigrants who have so far come to us across the Channel?
Sorry. Off topic. Just trying to put things into perspective!
I donāt know ā¦ is it ā¦ :?:
