If you are right-handed, have the injection in your left arm.
Then, if your arm drops off you’ll still be able to type.

HAHA thanks for the tip! Although I’ve been told we can still communicate with electronic devices using the microchip
Well yet, I suppose it must be very useful having a microchip built into your brain.
SIL had his AZ vaccination yesterday, arm felt sore after, which can be expected. He’s gone into work this morning and my daughter had a message from him saying he is aching all over now. Good job he took his Paracetemols with him. Another of his work colleagues had the same jab yesterday and has the same symptoms today.
We have reached phase 1b which includes us over 70 year olds. I checked the web site and there were a few local clinics offering the jab, but I will wait for the initial rush to subside.

There is also a consent form that has to be signed (all four pages of it)
The certificate of vaccination should pop up on the Medicare part of the MyGov app.
There is one community case of Covid in Sydney and one in Brisbane so there is no urgency.
Ho hum!
Just heard from my son in Wales, he has been given an appointment for his first jab next Monday!
It came as a shock to him as he wasn’t expecting it for another month or so what with the shortage of vaccines. He’s 47 so really pleased.
Well I was recovering from my jab last night and this morning. Wow! what a reaction I had. Every muscle and joint hurting. I felt so rough and spent most of the day in bed. I had a dry mouth too so had to keep hydrated and mild palpitations in the night. Like flu but more scary because you don’t know when it will end or whether it will get worse. Then my temperature went slightly above normal and the pain and suffering came to an end. I’m still delicate but managed to have a bath and eat something. What a rollercoaster. Feel a bit achy but “normal” just hope it doesn’t come back.
Sorry to hear you had a reaction, glad to hear younon the mend though. Rest up x
People receiving the AZ vaccine are being told by them to seek medical advice if they have a headache for longer than 4 days .
Annie I had the AZ jab and felt much the same for 16-18 hours, but it much improved through the next day. Try to rest & take paracetamol to ease the symptoms. I also felt tired but had a good nights sleep the next night & I was then OK. It is scary, so pamper yourself for a couple of days.
Oooh! That sounds quite the ordeal, Annie, hope you are feeling better now?
Ouch … :!:
Pfizer or AstraZeneca … :?:
AZ and these are classic symptoms except the dry mouth which only 346 people have reported. Thankfully not as bad now but I’ve had to sleep again in the afternoon. It feels a bit like long covid that people describe. Feel ok but then walking downstairs and doing something small like putting the dinner on wipes me out. Don’t want to take too many painkillers. You’re meant to avoid ibuprofen and I’ve already had six paracetamol since yesterday evening. Friends say that this reaction means I will have strong protection now. They say if you are under 55 you have a more violent reaction.
Right then. that’s me, so another reason not to partake in that one
It’s got nothing to with the fact that your body strongly objects to the insertion of toxic chemicals that have just entered your blood stream then Annie…? It’s like your mother telling you that the worse the medicine tastes the better it is for you…
Quite frankly and with all due respect, saying that ‘the worse the reaction to the vaccine, the stronger your protection will be against covid’ is just preposterous! You’ve got to hand it to the media and government on doing an excellent job of pulling the wool over the eyes of normally quite sensible and knowledgeable people…:surprised:
I am going to get some more toxic chemicals inserted into my bloodstream a week today OGF. I did not notice any bad effects the last time.
I must agree.
Vaccination was discovered a very long time ago and has been shown to work for many different illnesses.
The only difference with the Covid vaccines is that they have been developed rather quickly, due to the pressing need.
I’m sure that before long we shall know just how successful, or otherwise, they are.
For now, I’m happy to have had mine.
I think I had covid last year OGF but that it wasn’t diagnosed. I can’t prove it but I strongly suspect someone in my office had it back in March. Commuting etc gave many a chance to catch it before lockdown. He was commuting too and he never had a sick day then he had a few. Came back with a rattling cough. The following week I was sick for a few days after starting to work from home but it didn’t go to my chest but to my muscles and joints etc. with a raging headache and sore throat. I’ve had what can only be explained as long covid symptoms all year since. So that explains my body seeing the virus again and reacting. Feeling better today but still delicate. None of my friends have had such a bad reaction. The worst they had is fatigue and a headache so far. I wish I could have been diagnosed last year but they weren’t even doing the tests properly at that stage.
By the way I’ve had many vaccines over the years and this is the worst reaction. So I do think it’s the vaccine ingredients but that I must had the dratted lurgies already.
Everyone should have it. I’ve reacted badly but it’s not like I’m a goner from it. It’s worth it to get us out of this mess.
Your conclusion seems correct:
According to the latest data from the ZOE COVID Symptom Study people who have had a previous COVID-19 infection are almost twice as likely to experience one or more mild whole body (systemic) after effects compared to people who didn’t have COVID-19 (33% vs 19%) from a Pfizer/BioNTech vaccine dose. The most common mild whole body (systemic) after effects experienced were fatigue (9%), headache (8%) and chills or shivers (4%). Most mild whole body (systemic) after effects appeared in the first two days after the vaccination and only 3% of people have any after effects beyond three days.
Also:
A stronger response may indicate evidence of an increased immune response.
