Covid-19 Vaccinations

Had my booster yesterday and I’ve been quite poorly this time round, I had no ill effects whatsoever with the first two jabs but since I had booster I started with a very sore throat, headache and generally feeling of what I would say mild flu symptoms, I’m hoping it passes quickly as most seem to do. Oh and my arm hurts like heck this time too but ne’er mind, I’ll live

Was your booster the same vaccine as the first two LQ? Mine was a Pfizer after two Astra Zeneca.

Yes Scot, I had the pfizer all three times. I am wondering if it’s because I caught Covid a couple of months back, perhaps that is the reason? I don’t know but I do know I feel a bit rubbish right now, I’m sure I’ll be better in the morning as apparently the symptoms don’t stick around long.
Were you ok with yours Scot?

Australia hits 80% double vaccinated with some states reaching or on the threshold of 90%.

@scot37, That’s ok Scot, it’s where the needle came out the
other side !!

Well six weeks after being notified for our boosters we finally
got a phone call from an acquaintance whilst l was watching
the portugese Moto GP and having a pint, that if we went to
our local vac centre we might get our jabs !!
This after being told they were open twice this week allready
only to have them cancelled again at the last minute ??
However, we booked a taxi and were on our way in 10 minutes !!
Every thing went off great and we were back within one and
a quarter hours ?
So it seems that the 119 number of the NHS has some sort of
problem connecting to to local systems as our Melton centre
was never presented to us by the 119 NHS system??
If that makes sense ??
Hope they get it sorted by the next time we need a jab ??
Seems our local granny system works better than the high tech
professional network ??

I’m pleased to hear you have had your Booster jabs at long last DM :+1:

Fingers crossed you have no bad reactions from them. :crossed_fingers:

@Mags , Only the usual sore arm Mags , l must say that l am amazed by
the number of OFC members that seem to to be unaware of what having
an injection is like?
Have they got to middle age without having an injection ??
Thanks for your good wishes !!

NSW has just reached the 90% double dose vaccination target today and counting.

@Bruce
That’s good news Bruce!

My son had his booster yesterday, all was well until 4 am this morning, he woke me up with a terrible fever, headache, aching all over his body, I then had to go out to the car to get his covid test, he felt so bad he thought he had covid,:open_mouth::open_mouth:…luckily it came up negative, never mind the main thing is, he’s alive thank God!

This covid is certainly causing so much havoc as is the injection and booster to safeguard us, I know a few on here are dealing with covid stricken relatives, my thoughts and prayers are very much with you all.

Will people really go and have this fourth vaccination they are on about in the spring?

Will people really have another vaccine each time there is a new variant?
Can that be safe?

I know with animals they can over-vaccinate, so what about humans?

I hope your son is feeling better this morning Pauline…
And a Happy Christmas to you from the Fox…xx
:hugs:

If I am offered the Pfizer as a 4th they can stick it where the sun don’t shine. My booster was the 3ml of Pfizer which knocked me for 6 the 3 days following the shot and Mrs LD was as good as bed ridden for 4 days and now over 2wks later she is still not as she was before the boosting shot. Neither of us suffered any after effects with the 5ml Oxford AZ, so the Pfizer must be the problem and wont be our 4th if offered. However, if offered the Moderna, I might go for the shot.

Sorry to hear that LongDriver, I hope you are both feeling better.
Try and enjoy the festive period, and I agree with you about the commercialism…It’s getting well out of hand, and not just at Christmas either. We are bombarded day and night by people wanting to sell us stuff, not least the government. How did it come to this after those heady days in the fifties when life seemed so easy and simple…?

The point about the 50’s into the 60’s was we went out & about making our own merriment without resorting to retail therapy as many do today. Just look at all the dance n music venues that have closed down to become some new retail outlet. Life now seems to revolve around shopping and clubbing. Sex too seems to have changed for the worse IMO … it seems to be expected almost as much as it is freely given … now where the thrill in that :man_shrugging:. Don’t take any notice of me coz I’m in reminiscing mode LOL

It’s funny you should say you weren’t too well after. I wasn’t poorly but after about 2 days and lasting a week my skin itched and prickled all over. it felt crawly under the skin. It drove me nuts but I didn’t dare scratch.

I imagine a lot of people won’t want yet another booster.
